What was the going rate when you moved houses? I'm moving 20 minutes away from my current location in western sydney and have found most places are charging about $200/hr for a 2 man crew + truck, with some starting the timer when they leave their location to travel to the first pick up.
How Much Did You Pay for Removalists?

$75 p/h with $50 callout fee minimum 2 hrs
$180/h 3 guys + 6 ton truck, minimum 2 hours. time begins at 10am, or whatever time we agreed for them to arrive at my place to start loading.
got quoted $270 p/h for the removalist and a truck when my mum moved
decided that was a bloody rip off so hired the truck from budget for $180 got a few family members to help i think mum gave them a bottle of whiskey - took about 2 hours
$80/hr for two man + 4t truck. Half hour call out fee. In Perth.
That's dirt cheap. They're definitely not getting rich any time soon! haha
That price doesn't sound too bad for two guys and a truck. Have you had any other quotes? When asking for a quote, you should give them an estimate of how many hours you think it'll take - they might discount it if it's a bigger job over a few a days or something.
You get what you pay for with some removalists.
Check their reviews, T&Cs and insurance.
You get what you pay for. A friend of mine recently had to move out and found a place 5 minutes drive from where he live on the Gold Coast. He was quoted $110 per hour for 2 guys and a truck and the charges started when they arrived. They estimated it would take 8 hours. However they didnt even show up and this was a saturday afternoon with Monday being Labour day holiday in QLD. He had to scramble to find another move at short notice and as sharks smelling blood in the water everyone was quoting $250+ per hour and asking for extra for like stairs fees, charge for extra man.
It is such a dodgy industry!
Hi Jimmy, can you please advise what you ended up with in the end
Last time I moved I hired I van and got some mates to help so ~$100 for the van, a case of beer and some fried chicken (for the "removalists" after moving).
