Please Vitalik save my GPU resale value 🙏

  • Does anyone think the 3070 Ti is a worthwhile purchase over the equivalent 3070 model?

    Genuine question.

    • +2

In my opinion, if it's a few dollars off (like 50 or less), or around the same price, then sure go for the 3070 ti. If it's more than that, then no, not really. There's like a 5% difference according to techpowerup, in relative performance. Up for you to decide. I'd still probably wait for prices to drop a bit, others may have different opinions?

      • +1

It's the additional power requirement that made me question whether it was worthwhile.

        • under-volting reduces that substantially and retains near (or at times) better performance.

of course you can do the same to the 3070

        • it requires 3x pcie connectors, overkill. its only 3070 Ti.

  • Hold. Price will come down further in April

  • More expensive than a week ago.
Was $1214 delivered. Although it wasn't the master version

      So not more expensive then

      • +2

If the difference of 45mhz justifies that $85 + delivery then by all means go for it but even comparing the 2 gigabyte 3070ti there's hardly anything justifying this over the 3070 ti OC

          Fancy screen haha.
Model does make a difference, there's some shit models out there that thermal throttle and stuff too.

I would pay a bit more for the much better aesthetically pleasing Aorus Master. Thermals and noise are a bit better than the Gaming OC. Being quad slot, this model takes up an extra slot while not providing improved thermal and acoustic performance compared to ASUS and MSI similar tiered offerings. What sets this apart is the fancy display if you're into that sort of thing or building an Aorus themed PC also with a display on the AIO block and PSU.

Bear in mind this is a heavy weight monster with copious amounts of GPU sag that makes the leaning tower of Pisa look straight. There have been reports of the PCIe connector being damaged over time due to the sheer weight causing the graphics card to malfunction and then Gigabyte refusing warranty claims over that. Gigabyte really should have bundled an anti-sag brace with this model. Not an issue if vertically mounting or planning to use with a brace.

      • Thanks for the input.
Appreciate the knowledge. Its always good to know numbers aren't everything

  • why must they tempt me with my favorite colour scheme, if only it was more than 8gb

  • i really like the aesthetic of this card, but i dont think it will fit in any of my pc cases without some compromises

    • +1

      Time for new case ;)

      • but i like my case :(
and i also switch between an itx build for portability and a normal atx one

  • Yummy Master AORUS 😋

  • Is this a LHR? cant seem to see on actual gigabyte website

    • +1

      3070ti all LHR

I doubt any non LHR is for sale anyway.
