Electrolux Pure C9 Origin Vacuum Cleaner (Iron Grey) $299 + Delivery (Was $499) @ JB Hi-Fi

300

UPDATE Seems that JB has upped the price back to $399 Harvey Norman still has this at $299

Edit
Seems some fellow ozbargainers have found you can buy this cheaper on Ebay from BingLee with ebay plus, so if you want to save a bit more coin have a look there! Credit to thisisadu & WookieMonster

TimR31 also found the animal version which has a Ergo handle and turbo brush included and is only about 30$ more from Binglee compared to the deal I posed.

Was on the hunt for a new corded vacuum cleaner with a bit more oomph than the Dreame V11 we have kicking around for the little stuff when I found this $200 off RRP.

Reviews seem really good even on Product Review which as we know is a housing estate for people with product issues.

Tried to price match at TGG but they said this was so far under cost the system would only let them go as low as $350.

Enjoy as always!

I have one of these. Very happy with it. I've previously has a couple of Dyson ball vacuums and the C9 was miles better. Just don't forget to clean out the rear air filters. Mine lost suction after around 12 months and took me awhile to check the filter which was chock full. Cleaned it out and good as new. Would buy again.

    • Thank you very much Peace Maker, I know they advertise all filters being in the one spot but was it still relatively easy to give them a clean after leaving them for that long?

      • +1

Yep, super easy. They are 3 pieces of foam of different densities. I just rinsed them under the tap and kept squeezing until all the dust came out. Let it dry and put back in. Was as good as new again. I use it on carpet and timber floor. Works great on both.

        • thks for the info
brought one now have something really suxs

        • There's a HEPA filter in it too right? Did you wash that as well or just clear the dust out of it? I've read you're not supposed to wash HEPA filters.

Do you happen to have a pet that sheds a lot? If so, was this sufficient?

  • Bag less?

    • Yes

      • +1

Thanks. The jbhifi listing doesn't mention bagless but binglee had the bagless wording. Will keep an eye on this model at a late date.

    • Bagless ≠ filterless.

      • That fine. Happy to clean the filter with running water and abit of soap.

  • Was going to get the red C9 as recommended by Choice, anyone know what the differences are (if any?)

    • +10

      The red is faster.

    • +3

Answering my own question, red one has a turbo head and "ergo" handle. Cheapest I can find the red is $420, cost of the turbo head on its own is $130, so if you do want the turbo head it's worth getting the red version

EDIT: Bing Lee is $360 delivered

      • +1

Just FYI if you've got a carpet the turbo head could be worth it. I have the Pure C9 Advertised above and its a fantastic vacuum, but on max you need to be a weightlifter to push it along the carpet, it definitely doesn't move easily.

        • I have an earlier model (about five years ago) and hope the turbo head is improved. It cleans carpet very well by but it is also very hard to get long blonde girl hairs out of the turbo head as you can’t really take it apart. It eventually seized up. The wheels on the normal brush also fall off after a period of wear and there is not way to get them to stay on. So I glued them and they no longer roll but at least help the head glide a bit better
We got it as it was highest rated on Choice at the time, but I think we will look at other options with a possibility being the Hoover equivalent, which unfortunately never gets the same sort of discounts.

same price at bing lee and appliances online (free delivery as well)

  • Is this better than Miele?

  • +2

This one or Miele ( especially CX1)?

Edit: bought it from ebay appliances Online. Cash back and extra $14 off and free shipping.
    Thanks OP.

    • Great deal Cryptic, hope it does a good job for ya.

    • do they price match HN / JB / TGG etc?
looking at the C9 Animal, but they're selling for $497, whilst the others are at $350

Also which one did you end up going with?

  • +1

Thanks OP needed a new vacuum so I’ll give this one a shot

    • +1

No worries, hope it goes well!

  • +1

    This or Miele CX1?

    • I wonder the same too

    • Haven't used the Miele but I would hazard a guess it's a better vacuum. Did a lot of research before buying my Pure C9 and the Miele seemed to come out on top, but it also commands a higher price.

      • Choice rates the Electrolux above the Miele.
That said these are built to a price.

For anyone with eBay Plus, you can purchase it from the Bing Lee eBay store and use the coupon code PLMID5 to bring the cost of this vacuum down to $284.05 delivered.

Have been using a shitty stick vacuum for so long waiting for a good price for one of these vacuums and it comes down in price when I decide to move out into a share house which already has a vacuum…Figures.

And no way am I buying a good vacuum to move into a share house and let everyone use

    WTF…..Price suddenly changed to $399?

    • Must have been a price error

      • +2

If you still want this from a QLD BnM store snap it up from Harvey Norman

  • This or Miele Classic C1 Powerline Vacuum Cleaner (https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/10797640-miele-classic-c…)?

    • This

  • How is the noise level compare to Miele?

    • According to Choice review, this is 3dB louder than CX1, 2dB louder than C1

      • +1

        3db = twice as loud.

  • +2

    Its 399. :(

      Ebay still sells at $299.

I'd definitely go a Miele bagged. Aftermarket bags are $25 for 10 on ebay. I change the bag every 6-9months and use it daily. It has full suction even when the bag is full. I'm yet to have a full bag even after 9 months but change it because it's cheap enough. By the time you mess with bagless and dust/suction problems it isn't worth it imo. I also use a Miele stick hx1 and would use my Miele C2 compact hardwood anyday over the stick!

    • Would you go Compact C3 or CX1?

  • I've been thinking of the popular Miele C3 Cat & Dog for ages, how does this Electrolux Pure C9 Origin compare?

    • +1

The Miele hands down…we have a ragdoll that generates an insane amount of fur around the house. I have tried Dyson Animal also and the Miele just works better.

    • Choice rates the Electrolux higher. That said there are certain brands choice always go for that I don’t always agree with, eg Electrolux vacuums, fisher and paykel appliances.
I guess Choice doesn’t really factor in usable life and servicing in its product comparisons.

Anyway, top rated vacuum on Choice is currently a bagged werthiem @$1200.

  • FYI if you call JB Sales - they will match HN or Bing Lee at $299.

Can use most payment methods, but only JB gift cards.

Also can't claim cashback or other things like QFF

  • Now available at the good guys for $299. Bought one a few days ago in store for $295
