[PS5] Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection $48 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

500

Going for $79 elsewhere, seems like a pretty good price for a great remaster.

Great price for those that want the PS5 box but you can also get a cheaper $15 upgrade if you own EITHER UC4 or LL already.

You get BOTH remasters with the upgrade even if you only own one of them.

I own a physical copy of UC4 - so that means if I get the PS5 upgrade for $15 I get both PS5 editions of UC4 and LL?

      • +2

        Yes.

        • +1

That’s cool I was thinking it was $15 per game upgrade and you needed to own both physical games

    • +2

UC4 or LL used to be available pre-owned for about $10 from EB Games when this was announced. I’m not sure if they still have stock.

    • Yep I did exactly this by buying one of the existing discs on Ebay for $12 and doing the upgrade, gaining both remasters.

Virtual vs physical copy, I know which I would prefer.

Sony was sneaky when they announced it. Sony immediately removed the PS4 digital standard version of the individual games.

Physical disc versions do get the upgrade offer, but I fear it could be like the FF7 remake upgrade (which binds that upgrade to physical version). If the digital version (let's say the PS5 full digital version) went on special later on, will Sony permit people with this upgrade linked to a physical disc version to purchase that? Or, this upgrade, unlike the FF7 remake upgrade is a "smart" upgrade?

Sony really should consider implement some, if not all of Microsoft's smart delivery features. Sony CSRs are not good at dealing with PS5 vs PS4 version + disc vs digital + upgrade issue. Some CSRs are pretty switched on, but the other ones could end up creating roadblocks and not get the issue resolved.

    Harvey Norman: Legacy of Thieves
Has a nice ring to it.

I know he cops a lot on OzB, but you can't deny the massive amount of deals posted from there.

I feel PS owners will get upgrade for free soon

    • +2

Sony did offer a free movie voucher for the movie with the upgrade. I think that voucher actually works on any movie, but still went and watched the movie.

Wasn't happy about Sony milking me 3 times (I bought both PS4 games (digital version), and paid for this upgrade). I guess that free movie ticket kinda eased the pain a bit.

Thanks! got one. btw the Uncharted movie is pretty good

  • Does the psn collection offer the upgrade to these remastered versions as well?

    • +1

      Not currently

    • +3

No it doesn’t. If you had purchased the games via PSN though you can upgrade those purchases, but they no longer sell the individual titles, only the new collection.

    • +1

No, in fact, due to Sony no longer sell PS4 digital version of Lost Legacy, there is no cost effective way to get the digital upgrade (physical disc version + upgrade does work).

I bought PS4 digital version before Sony put that in PS Plus. So that digital upgrade is handy. Getting lazy to change discs.

      • Bummer, hope they offer a path for digital purchases soon!

        • They won’t for the PSN Collection I imagine. It’s explicitly called out as being exempt on the upgrade offer page so it’s intentionally not being offered.

If you want digital, it’s probably best to just wait for a 50% sale which will take it close to the cost of buying the old copies digital on sale and the upgrading for a further $15 anyway.

It can get a bit tricky, and without the equivalent of Microsoft's smart delivery, there could be another mess like FF7 Remake upgrade.

I bought FF7 remake disc edition to get the free upgrade (thinking Sony disallowed free upgrade for the PS Plus version). What happened is that it made that upgrade linked to physical disc version. When Sony later announced free upgrade for PS Plus version, I was not able to take advantage of that. I needed Sony CSR to arrange to have the previous upgrade removed and it took multiple calls because some CSRs were unclear about the exact situation. Some OZBers struggled to resolve the same issue for weeks.

This could get even nastier because if Sony doesn't fix this nonsense, people might need to request removal of the upgrade + a voucher to re-apply the upgrade (since it is a paid upgrade, not a free upgrade like FF7 remake). Hopefully, Sony would just offer the PS5 version of the games for PS Plus free eventually (and let's hope the dumb system won't block people from getting it - for those people who got the upgrade via a physical disc version).

  • Tangentially related: anyone else not get their free tickets to the movie from the upgrade?

    • I never got the ticket either. I gave up waiting and emailed sony today.

    • I got mine ~2 weeks after I bought the upgrade.

    Come on Amazon!!

  • Anyone know if the remaster lets you import your saves?

I could go burning through them again, but cannay be (profanity) platting an Uncharted game for like the tenth time, I'd happily burn through it again with the cheats on and have some fun though.

    • +1

Yep it lets you import your PS4 save. I held off on finishing UC4 for 2 years until the Legacy of Thieves Collection came out.

    • Yes, once you loaded one the games, go to Story, you will see an option:

      Import Game from PS4 console

You can only import one game at a time. You probably want to import the game with your latest progress first. That way, you get all the add-ons you activated restored. Kinda wish it provides an interface to import multiple games, rather having to do it one at a time manually.

  • I heard no multiplayer?

  • Just two days ago picked up the two PS4 physical games and did the digital upgrade for ps5 :)

I wonder if there is ever a digital sale on the game the upgrade price will be deducted from total 🤔

    • $ony? Nah. Discount later on if you were to purchase the full digital version for those who purchased this upgrade is wishful thinking. I am fully digital with this game. Once upgraded, the digital fresh PS5 version is no longer available for me to purchase. I suspect it might be the same thing for you.

What's the difference? Is it just remastered for PS5?

    • 60fps and 120fps modes. Take advantage of the PS5 SSD fully (fast load), if you only owned either Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy, you get to own the other one as well. Some support of DualSense (don't expect too much).

You do lose multiplayer mode (though technically, you could still play through the PS4 game).

In short, quality of life type improvements. However, the PS5 version must be installed either on the internal SSD or a supported NVMe PCIe gen 4 SSD.

      • I got it plus the free ticket to the movie :D

        • There is still the booking fee (well, at least I was charged a booking fee). I had low expectation on the movie. I was really tempted to use the voucher code to watch a different movie though.
