Unable to get Kogan Sim Card to Work With Unlocked Telefon Global S22 Ultra 5G

Hello

I have a New phone Android 12 with dual sim Slot

I placed my Kogan sim in slot 1 and got the no service , changed APN etc but no good

I placed it in Slot 2 exactly the same as above.

Grabbed my Telstra card and inserted it intp Android 12 , bang all good Mobile, internet , messages etc.

Placed Kogan Sim back into my Oppo Android 6 phone and no problems started straight up like old , tried in wifes phone all good as well., back into Android 12 no good.

Kogan Sim works on all phones except the new one

Woolworth and telstra sims work on Android 12 phone no problem

What could the problem be??

Why not tell us the phone you're using on Android 12 instead of the operating system? Maybe the Kogan SIM and the phone aren't compatible?

    What could the problem be??

So is this it https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003626096347.html ?

If it works on one provider and not others then the chances are the phones bands aren't compatible.
The page only mentions "Frequency GSM850/900/1800/1900MHz, 3GWCDMA850/1900/2100MHz, 4G LTE 5G" What the 4G or 5G bands actually are a complete mystery.
So it's entirely possible that it will connect via Telstra 3G only. Vodafone sim will only work if you are closer to where vodafone has 2100Mhz etc.

This is exactly what I expected was the cause…. I kinda hope OP also realises those specs are fake considering the price to component ratio…..

      Taken from the comments

Modified Android 8.1 version not android 12.
Actual specs seem to be 1300mhz duel core? "2GB of ram" and a "16GB rom" only has 2 very mediocre cameras rest are just dummy/fake lenses. Also makes you install some nasty malware to back up it's claim of having 16GB ram and a 1TB rom. Any decent legit device info app will tell you the truth that it's nowhere near that.

What are the chances are it's only a 2G/3G phone as they are the only bands they list? Nothing else seems to suggest that it's anything like advertised. Mystery solved let's go get drunk.
If you want more info watch the Smoorez youtube link that Forfiet posted. :)

  • yes i know they are but needed a bigger screen for my aging eyes

Maybe get a tablet for gaming instead?

    • You can buy big screen cheap phones without getting scammy fake ones.

      Look for Umidigi and Ulefone.

I'd do a chargeback if they don't refund this for scamming you.

Buying a phone from overseas can net you a good deal, but it comes with it inherent risks. You need to make sure the handset you are getting is unlocked, but also that the inbuilt radio supports the frequencies of local Australian networks.

    Telstra 700MHz (B28) 900MHz (B8) 1800MHz (B3) 2100MHz (B1) 2600MHz (B7)
    Optus 700MHz (B28) 1800MHz (B3) 2100MHz (B1) 2300MHz (B40) 2600MHz (B7)
    Vodafone 850MHz (B5) 1800MHz (B3) 2100MHz (B1)

The above are for 4G. Gotta make sure your handset will support the frequencies of your chosen network.

  • thanks for that i am going to try a boost sim as my telstra one worked fine

  • I suspect this is NOT a Qualcomm 888+ phone, and does not have 5G as the title only listed it as 4G. :(.

It sounds really suspicious as it is called Telefon (Telephone??)? For AUD$150-200, it is better to go with Redmi 9A ($130) / Redmi Note 10 ($200) (even it is overseas model), but at least you know what you get.

Did you try turning it on and off again?

    • This is the universal solution to solve all of mankinds problems.

    • yes

      • Well i'm out of ideas.

  • all good guys brought a boost sim and it is running well
