Just wondering whether anyone has had experience with this extended warranty from Battery World and Yuasa. Normally I don't like extended warranties but since batteries have a standard 30 month warranty, I was thinking it would be worth paying $15 to get an extra 8 months cover? Interesting thing about warranties on the replacement battery is that they say the warranty starts from the date of purchase of the DEFECTIVE battery… so no warranty really on the replacement?

I wouldn’t bother as it doesn’t really extend the warranty by a meaningful amount.
I got a Century battery from Battery World in 2017 which came with a three year warranty and the battery died after 2 years and 4 months so they replaced it with a Yuasa battery which normally sells with apparently a 40 month warranty. The guy said that if the battery dies in the 40 months, they would probably replace it even though it is a warranty replacement. I haven't tested that out yet because the battery has been going for the last three years… not bad for $175. So one point I was going to make about this is that every extra month of warranty counts in the event the battery dies just outside of the standard warranty.
That's pretty typical, you're not going to get a new 40 month warranty on a replacement for $15 :)
The upsell of the service you've quoted is the fitting of the battery rather than the extended warranty - it may be useful for those that are time poor or elderly and not able to lift the battery and fit (or can be bothered to get rid of the old one) for whatever reason…
If you do swap it yourself, you can take your old one to Super Cheap for recycling, even if you didn't buy your replacement battery there.
