Need to Book 12x Return and 1x One Way Flights, How to Score Best Bang for My Bucks

Hi all,

I need to book several tickets. Yeah just 13.
Destination wedding.
Around 6100mi journey one way.
I have been searching for flights for a couple of weeks now and been keeping an eye on it.
So I know how to find cheap/best/quickest flights.

What I need help is, how to score additional discount? I don’t have many QFF points.
(Wish I could earn points from everyone’s flights, some are family some aren’t)
Do people who work in this industry get more discount?

      Thanks. As a last resort I will. As they add their service fees etc. Skyscanner is better imo.

        Definitely find a good travel agent who is good with group bookings, will highly likely be cheaper than OTAs due to how fare buckets and revenue management work.

      Flights are in imperial, something to do with nautical miles being one minute of latitude.

    OP i use to work in the travel industry and your comment that SkySkanner is better is incorrect.

    All agencies have a groups department that can access group rates from airlines that typically have more than 10 pax travelling.

    These can open up either better pricing or perks, such as lounge access etc, sometimes the saving is minimal, sometimes a lot.

    You would absolutely be best to contact an agency (reputable one) and ask to speak to a groups specialist.

    Airlines have their different classes and typically while you search for 1 fare by the time you start booking you may get that fare, however whn you book the 7th or 8th person, the class may have changed and you are actually paying more than what you paid for the initial passengers.

    Most fees agencies charge are already built into pricing which is often similar to airlines, other agencies charge a minimal fee however with large bookings a small fee to know it's been booked correctly, groups sitting together etc can often be worth it

    Finally with Covid, if you are travelling overseas, an agency can also guide you to ensure you meet all the correct requirements for the place you are travelling and can negotiate with airlines should there be an issue due to borders shutting again, etc.

    google flights are good. scotts cheap flights has a guide on how to use them.
