  • I bought this desk back in November. Highly recommend it. Ask me anything.

    • +5

Do you find the 18mm thickness is not enough? I find most other proper table is 25mm.

I intend to put my tower on the table and mount 2 monitors.

      Thank you in advance.

      • Asking the real questions.

      • Good question

      • +1

I have this desk and have a 38” + 32” + Tower on top of it no problem, can provide photo if needed

        • Actually a pic will be great cheers!

          • +5
            • @Danneo: nice setup. what's the monitor stand you use?

            • @Danneo: Thanks! What size desk is that?

            • @Danneo: I presume your secondary monitor is a curved va panel. If so, how does it feel as a secondary? I've been thinking to get a 27" QHD as a secondary, but I am under the impression that IPS is better for that.

        • Keen to know does the desk shake when moving hands around and typing like some other thinner /less supported desks ? Or it solid and no movement from moving hands around the desk /typing?

      • I have the aldi $300ish one and even that one was fine with my tower and two 32" monitor + 18" macbook pro.. + me once standing on it.

      • +1

The table top is very sturdy and should be fine as long as you stay within the 130kg weight limit. Though I’d still try to put heavier objects to the side (above the legs). I personally have two monitors, two laptops, gaming console and bunch of other stuff and it feels really solid.

    • Any idea if this is meant to be for folks with a particular height?

Hoping to share with other people at home.

      • +1

        From the spec

        Height adjustment from 645-1290mm

I find the height range is quite okay. I compared it to officeworks single motor one, it doesn't go lower and higer than this.

      • +3

IMO the height range is main selling point of this desk. Most other desks from officeworks and Ikea bottom out at 70-72 cm which is not low enough for good ergonomics for an average height person. This desk with stock table top goes down to 66cm (measured to the top of tabletop) and it is just a bit more convenient. I have this desk setup at 68cm and I am 180cm.

        • Does it go high enough or not even to max height when standing as I'm also tall: 184 cm.

Do you ergonomically sit or stand with the keyboard/table below elbow height so arms are bent facing down abit?

          • @SaberX: I try to keep my elbows roughly 90 deg by matching armrest height with desk height. Sitting height set at 68 cm and standing height set at 112 cm though I sometimes raise it a bit more. Even then there is plenty room to raise.

    • Hey OldSchoolHarry, have you tested the Anti Collision?
"Anti collision setting programmed to avoid chair and under table cabinet collision"

      • +1

Just tested it out with my chair. Doesn’t seem to be sensitive enough to work. Maybe has to do with not enough weight on top. I think the motors have enough torque to just tip the desk to one side if encountered an obstacle. It just keeps going.
        Can others verify this too?

        • Thanks for testing!

    • Do you find the cutout Means a fair bit of depth is lost from table so having 2 X 27" 4k monitors it's abit too "close" per se?

      • The cutout portion is 65cm depth which I find okay for my use. My 24” monitors sit 12cm from the back edge with included arm. You can measure your current monitor distance to get a better idea.

        • Yeah I have 27" X 2. monitors on stands at edge of table which is circa 730,-750 deep so I'm concerned with stands on ,650mm deep is gonna feel way close… Sigh I wonder why everyone does these widths and hardly any 800 depth sizes

P.s. do included arms work for 27" ? Do you mind snapping a pic from side or back on by any chance really curious to see how they set the monitors back further than the edge. Wondering if you can get monitors wide by side or mimicking like a one curved monitor style angle of continuation by any chance? So no gaps between two?

I think this desk has always been $500, no?

    • +1

yep. Even tho the previous posts were expired, their website still had them for $500 even in late January.

  • +1

Anyone found an under desk mount that for a larger/heavier tower (e.g. Fractal R5) for these desks that fits around the frame/centre rails?

  • Would that monitor arm be able to hande a 49" ultrawide

    • +1

doubt that. it's an NB F80

    • +1

      30” max for monitor.

    • If it is the same one they used last year it won't, it can just hold up my 34"
      https://www.retaildisplaydirect.com.au/monitor-mount-desktop…

      • The arm that they threw in as a freebie is sort of not compatible with the table as well. The hind feet of the arm does not completely sit on the table due to the slant table edge.

  • The best budget sit stand desk in the market.
I would like to have one if I didn't make one by my self.

  • +4

Have purchased 2 of these desks. 1600mm and 1400mm. Can recommend. Great product. Also dealing with Retail Display Direct has been great. I had an issue with a damaged tabletop plate due to bad handling by the shipping courier and they have sent me a new one in a matter of days.

I have my PC, 2.1 speakers, 2 x 27" monitors on top and it has no issues lifting whatsoever.

The only thing I dislike is the metal bar (the front one, there are 2) that support the tabletop getting jammed onto my legs. I'm 171cm, I like to sit close to the desk and have adjusted my chair height so that my forearm is parallel to the desk as one should do. I can't touch the floor with my feet and so I'm using a footrest. If that bar was removed or moved back (deeper) to make more of a clearing, that would have been awesome!

  • Can anyone confirm if the cable management hole is on the left or right side? Photo suggest it's on the right but the CAD drawing suggest otherwise.

  • with it fit dual 27 inch monitors on it?

    • Yeah anything 1600mm or above should comfortably fit it (1800mm will have extra room to spare).

    • I've the same but abit worried with 650mm depth given the cutout

  • +1

I got the 180cm desk. I have a Lian Li O11 dynamic, 34 ultrawide and a 24” on an arm on the table. Highly recommended.
The only thing I don’t like is the ergo cutout. I feel like you lose a lot of table depth. Otherwise, pretty good so far after 2 months of use.

I recommend getting 1 or 2 Ikea signum for cable management and 6Gx15mm pan head screw for mounting the tray and powerboard.

    • Is the 650mm depth too short? I thought 700-750mm was already short?

      • I feel like its a little short. 70-75 might be perfect for me. I’m putting up fine with it though.

  • I got one during the last deal & love it. Agreed with the cutout that takes away space. I should’ve gone the largest table top size though

Dealt with a lot of headaches though. With its design there’s no hope of even a small drawer underneath. I wanted the pc case under the desk & that was a costly experience. Even then I had to get creative & had to install it on the main metal bars. Forget screwing much into the crappy table top wood

  • Very tempted to replace my L-shape setup:

    https://imgur.com/a/nvB3ji4

Just not sure if it will all fit nicely and the need to buy a monitor arm is expensive for the screen size..

    • Your current desk looks fine. Dont think 180cm will have the same amt of space

      • Yea but it doesn't go up and down :D haha

  • Can that monitor arm support the Xiaomi 34"Mi monitor?

  • Price etc looks great but I'm wondering if there's any similar priced quality options anyone's gotten without the cutout?

Cutouts aren't an issue for me but I've been struggling with most tables are 70-75cm depth and seems to be on borderline of being too close for a 2 X 27" 4k monitor setup?? Or is it just me? Per diagrams the cutout takes 100mm out from the 750mm depth (which without would be ok) so I'm imagining you'd be sitting real close?? Has this bothered anyone?

Has anyone found anything else that comes remotely affordable as this with the depth to match?

Everything else with no cutout like omnidesk, desky, ergo and Zendesk etc all are like 900-1.5k for most wood top desks. It's crazy exp but not sure if this is the norm? Given this Is $500 are people just praising it as it's cheap (so somewhat biased) or does it actually do the job reasonably well without the premium price tag?

And again.. if anyone's found anything 750mm or bigger depth I'd love to know? Seems no one does 800-900 mm tops as I presume 700-750mm depth is some sort of industry standard??

    • I have been using an ikea table that's 50mm, so the 65mm is already a better upgrade for myself.

If you are worried that it's too close, you cal always opt for monitor arm which will allow you to position it a bit further. That being said, monitor arm ain't cheap.

      • How much you reckon for one for dual 27"? I don't mind the 27" 4ks I got off the ozb recent eBay sales. I'll remeasure the Bunnings fold up table haha pretty sure it's 70cm and feels pretty short haha.

    • I haven't tried them myself, but in my search I found these:

      https://www.amazingooh.com.au/collections/motorised-desks

Their table tops are 80 cm in depth and don't appear to have any cutouts.

  • Got the 1400. It's solid. The cut-out in the desk is okay, I don't mind it and find it useful for note taking on a tablet.

No significant issues at all, and quality wise I have no complaints and it feels like a good quality desk, not just a good 'deal' desk. I suppose the tabletop (I got all white) isn't amazingly aesthetic but I wouldn't say there's anything particularly bad about it.

The only issues was during construction, attaching the tabletop - the screws were slightly too short/rubber gaskets slightly too thick. Easily solved by slicing the gaskets a bit thinner with an box cutter.

    Overall would recommend, no complaints.

    • I had trouble with that as well so I didnt put the gaskets in. It just didnt make sense to me and seem like it would only make it unstable. My table seems fine without it. Should I be worried?

      • If its not wobbling then it shouldn't be an issue. The gaskets are just to keep tension on the screws holding the tabletop I think. (just check they aren't loose)

    • I had that issue too. I thought the screw is too short.

But upon looking carefully at the build instruction, it seems you're only supposed to add the gasket on the middle one and screw the other two without gasket.

  • My table top came with no screw threads. Waiting to hear back from their support

    • Still waiting for mine.

Tracking says it should arrive on Friday, but last entry was In Transit in WA.

I called and they said the frame and arm is here but the top is still on its way.

    • Which screw threads is that for? attaching the frame?

  • Does anyone know how does it compare with AIMEZO?
AIMEZO Electric Standing Desk Frame 3 Tiers Legs Adjustable Height Sit Stand Desk Home Office/Anti-Collision System/Dual Motor / 4 Memory/No Desktop(White) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08K8S1SFM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…

Also is it okay to to fit 2.2m bunnings panel? Thinking to buy just the frame.
