Which Phone Would You Recommend? Android, Great Camera, Headphone Jack, under $450

Tech noob looking for a new phone after five years of a Nokia 6.

I live in Melbourne but spend a bit of time in regional VIC so 5G isn't really needed. I usually use Kogan anyway so don't think it's an option yet!

Need a headphone jack, and would like the best (back facing) camera possible for the price. I tend to keep phones quite a few years so longevity of software updates would be good. 128GB+ internal memory. Expendable memory / card slot not needed. Preferably not too heavy (lighter than the Nokia 6, anyway).

Was looking at the Motorola G51 128GB and Oppo A54s 128GB, would they be good choices?

Thanks for the help!

  • Used S20FE would kill anything under $450

    • I was hoping for new with warranty. Not sure how good a phone I need, I'm used to an old Nokia 6!

    Oppo Reno 4Z

    Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Oppo A74 5G 128GB Fluid Black $399 at Officeworks etc.

It has 5G which you stated isn't really needed but at that price it's a bonus.

They also have the A54 for $350. It is the same thing but has only got 4gb ram, 64gb storage and doesn't come with a fast charger.

Samsung Galaxy A32 if you like Samsung

If you have access to the Samsung Edu or EPP access, the Samsung A52 ($439) is really good and if you were looking to stretch the budget to $520 you could even get the A52s 5G. Both have promised software updates of major os releases for 3 years and I believe 4-5 years of security patches. In my family we have both and find them really hard to fault as the cameras preform really well and the screens are big and bright. They also both have 128Gb of storage, and a headphone jack!

    • The A52 sounds really good, thanks. Where do you find info on whether a phone / brand will have ongoing software updates / security patches?

Samsung released the info as I believe it changed with the A_2's releases, I found it out when I was looking for a family member.
