Hmmmm…18 nuggets of mystery ingredients? Are they not allowed to call them 'chicken nuggets'?
Essentially chicken meat, flavouring and mixture for the chicken meat, mixture for the coating, and preservatives.
Nothing out of the ordinary for ultra processed food. The ingredients don't mention chicken meat though.
And given the bad reputation of what fast food chains are putting in their products, I'd expect a chain to desperately brag about any legit ingredient they use. So putting "chicken 55%" there ensures me it's not the best bits.
@pizzaguy: Do the bits matter though? It's ground up chicken, enjoyed with other artificially flavoured sauces. I'd be more concerned about fat content and nutritional content (i.e. how much skin is used) rather than how good quality the bits are. I actually enjoy eating the organs of chickens and parts of the bones are nice too (dogs eat them). If they can be ground up and made into chicken nuggets then it's a win for me. But in saying that, 'chicken nugget chicken' doesn't tell me anything…
@[Deactivated]: Doesn't matter to me, it's still processed food and no chicken parts would be poisonous, right?
By bits I meant bits of the whole chicken, so included skin and all that tissue that you'd normally prefer to remove (?).
It says 55% "chicken", not "chicken meat", was my point.
@pizzaguy: Chicken parts
By bits I meant bits of the whole chicken, so included skin and all that tissue that you'd normally prefer to remove (?).
Nah I wouldn't, the more we can use the better. As long as it's not like 50% chicken skin.
Chicken Nuggets Chicken as opposed to regular Chicken?
Close…
Sodium Reduced Chicken Nuggets Chicken
But don’t worry about the reduced salts, they add 4 more:
Minerals Salts (451, 450, 500, 508)
508 is the fun one
@muncan: The one they use in baby food?
@muncan: Nasty list of side effects to 508

Now I have to delay going on a diet for another week… fml
Yep - pretty inconsiderate of HJ's to do this IMO…
I dislike the HJs nuggets. Far worse than kfc or McDonald's imho. But thanks OP.
And the bar is low.
HJ nuggets always crispy for me. Macca's and KFC always soggy and limp.
None of the main 3 fast food outlets use crispy crumbed chicken nuggets, always tempura.
i rate kfc's nuggets the best. the aroma is enough to sustain me. maccas is quite bland but they have a better selection of dipping sauces e.g. mcchicken, big mac and tartare sauce.
hj's nuggets are only slightly better than supermarket frozen nuggets because instant gratification
Best - KFC
Mid - HJ
Worst - McDOnly chains we have where I'm from, will have to try Red Rooster some day during travel
shit nuggets and shit chips
On the other hand, a proper restaurant would serve you such a (double) portion at least for 2x$15 and you wouldn't even know what to expect.
I reckon the chips are awesome. That salt they use is 10/10!
Thumbs up on their chips. On my last few visits, they have been perfectly crispy and well seasoned. Better than the soggy tasteless KFC chips I seem to get.
nuggets are shit but the chips are good
Had nuggets before from Auburn Hungry Jacks, (profanity) horrible frozen nuggets from supermarkets are better. Won't even compare it to Maccas or KFC.
Do you even get sauce anymore? Was only allowed ketchup yesterday. What are the rules right now if anyone knows?
They always ask me what sauces I want. I always say one of each, and they're fine with that. Maybe your store only had ketchup left, lol. That was my experience with HJ maybe 2 months ago, but I don't think they've made any rule changes about the sauces.
But are the Nuggets better at Hungry Jacks?
Pardon the pun. I did read the above comments.
I don't recall HJ ever saying that. They only said their burgers were better.
What pun?
for the discerning eater…. :)
