Not biting until its 1000w and can jump start a space ship

    • +4

      sounds entirely reasonable :)

    • +2

Hahahah. Maybe it can be used to generate EMP on Morpheus's ship in Matrix. 😂

  • Delivery: Estimated between Thu. 10 Mar. and Tue. 26 Apr.

    • +1

Yeah, may as well just get it via Aliexpress I suppose.

Edit, no, it’s $25 on Aliexpress.

    • Note : Shenzen (where much of this stuff comes from) has just been hard-locked-down due to covid. Some of the other bric-a-brac crew (ie, flashlights) are warning week/months delays.

So confused - I need 100w from one type c. But this doesn't seem possible

    • Why does it not seem possible? 12V @ 8.3~ A is 100W. A car battery can easily provide 8.3A+.

      • +1

They're referring to from this baseus charger specifically. It's advertised as a 120w charger but it's capped at 30w per port, including 30w from usb-c.

      • Bruhhhh

    • +2

For 100w from a single usb-c port you'll need this Baseus car charger but it will do 100w under certain circumstances and in certain cars only.

      • Yeah, like not much more than 1/2 that or more if your lucky with 12V regular vehicles.

It rally get's confusing as some have the circuitry to bump up watts even from 12 V but not clearly

described, then you need the correct cable, and finnaly to get Max charging your device will also

need to have same fast charging tech as Charger and Cable, so if all three line up, engine is running,

you get a chance for Max Charging. Still hit and miss through experience with PD C charging many years.

        • The baseus 160w charger I shared you has the buck boost tech, it can amp up 12v to 20v 5A for 100w output if it is the only port being used.

But that being said, it is like you said, 100w requires right cable and can only be sustained for short periods.

  • 120W USB-C for car charging??? really??? seriously???

    • +1

      Laptop, iPad, 75" tv 🤣

    • +4

When the charger is approx 20 times the size of your car, would you expect anything less than 120W?

    • +1

Yea should be a 10-15 amp fuse on the cigarette lighter. 120w will be sweet.

  • What is the round port on top for?

    • it's a continuation of the ciggy lighter port that it plugs into

  • +9

It's deceiving, you only get 30W max from the Type C, 30W from the USB. The top port is for another cigarette lighter which provides the other 60W,

  • +1

If that thing draws 120w from a measly cigarette port, what power will be left for the flux capacitor???

  • This is false advertising. It's a 30W USB C charger at 12V Output, so it can't charge laptops, which is the only reason to want a high wattage car charger.

There are plenty of other Chargers which aren't rediculously large like this one which can do 30w usb c.

    • +3

Why is it false? It clearly states the specs, and clearly states the type of devices it charges.

Nowhere does it state, nor imply, that it charges laptops!
The combined charging ability is 120W, as stated prominently in the specs and in the ebay listing.

This is consistent format advertising of such products, providing the TOTAL combined output. eg. rooftop solar, drone camera ("6K" is 4K main lens plus a 2K downward camera)…

      • This is consistent format advertising

Sounds more like marketing waffle some someone in marketing.

      • Except one of the outputs is a straight through adapter and in no way can the system output 120w to usb.

The description also doesn't mention that it's only got a 30w charger.

Would you be OK with a usb power point advertising itself as 4860W? It can technically do it after all.

There are 45w usb c car chargers which can charge laptops, this is marketing bullshit to make it seem like it's a bigger charger when it isn't.

As someone who travels and works out of a car a lot it would be great if I could find a multi-device usb c charger for the car and another for the hotel room that could do both my laptop and phone at the same time without having to head the full description everytime.

    • "gumbs" I have had 4 Chromebooks now with USB C PD that can charge through 5V 3A and most of

my car/wall 5V 3A ( or higher ) can charge them, as well as most of my powerbanks that have

      minimum 5V @ 3A ( even a cheap Aldi $8-$10 powerbank ).

  • +1

Just a heads up it is coming from China, not locally. Ordered anyway

  • +1

Whats the difference between the OP 2 port and this one which is $15.30 ?

    • +1

At quick glance main diff is it's a lot smaller than OP's, and Max 30W Total, but 30W max for both individual port

      ( the USB C & USB A version ).

      • +1

Thanks. Dont smoke, so I saved $1.40.

        WooHOO!

  • +1

Thanks OP for sharing. Grabed the model with extension for $22.49 with my $5 discount coupon.

Max 30W per port x 4 will charge most of my devices ( some bit slower than the Max 45W but still at 75% speed )

for most Chromebooks, just need to think/plan a few hours ahead.

  • With iPhone, I'm assuming USB-A to Lightning won't allow fast charge? Or am I incorrect here?

  • Why are car chargers so much cheaper for the equivalent specs than wall chargers? Is it because a car is already DC?

    • without knowing, I reckon that's a safe bet (DC-DC = cheaper than AC-DC)

  • Price update:

    from OP's deal $17.95 > $16.70 with code
    now become $19.75 > $17.60 with code

    well played eBay. well played.
