"making them the cheapest I have seen."

So do you look elsewhere? Making that kind of declaration when you shill for the company is pretty sketchy.

I haven't seen cheaper. I looked. If you have, feel free to correct me. I'm not too proud to be corrected if I'm wrong. It happens.

Do these work with a Chromecast with Google TV? Looking to use LAN rather than WiFi.

    • I'm not sure how you intend to connect it. Are you thinking the Ethernet port on the hub will somehow give you LAN instead of wifi? If so, no that won't work. The LAN port let's you connect a laptop via wired Ethernet into which you have the hub plugged into.

      • If the hub can act as a LAN port on a laptop, it can theoretically do the same thing with a Chromecast since it also uses USB-C. However, I have seen very few of these hubs that are compatible with the Chromecast with Google TV, let alone one with an RJ45 port.

Google has a standalone adaptor that enables ethernet but I wanted a hub since it can also be used for other devices too.

        • I get you. You want to connect the Chromecast via USB C to the hub. Sorry, can't help you there. I could ask Baseus but I'm not sure they'd know either.

      • raiichiu is right!

You plug the hub into the USB-C port on the Chromecast, with power pass-through, and, if compatible, you can use the USB ports to plug in external drives with media, and you can use the Ethernet port instead of Wifi.

The problem is, not all of the hubs that are around are compatible for some reason.

So, I bought one with a Lan port, and it doesn't let me use the port or recognise USB drives.

I bought another cheaper one for $17 that does let me plug in drives.

I guarantee that if you confirm you can plug in USB drives and have them recognised, AND if the Lan works, you'll sell out your stock!

        • I'll drop them a line and ask. It's quite a specific use case so let's see what they say. Ideally someone on this forum has both and has tested.

I just got a response and the answer is unfortunately no.

  • How does this compare to the Anker 7-in-1 Hub with PD on sales for $48 currently?

I have the Dell S2721DS Monitor and am hoping to connect it to a future Asus G14 gaming laptop or Razer blade 14, with wired keyboard/mouse.
