Sorry, I should've mentioned these cost in the title!
thanks, ordered! can't go wrong @$55
Would Cherry Viola be very noisy for office environment?
Seems the keys are designed to be budget and are quieter
In action, a prototype keyboard using the switches offered a less tactile and clicky feel than that we've experienced on other mechanical keyboards. It was somewhat quieter too, ideal for office environments.

Quieter than normal switches probably but remember it's still a mechanical keyboard. Clicky clicky
You think all mechanical keyboard switches are loud and clicky?

Reviews seem very average?
This keyboard was expensive when the switches were designed more with the budget keyboards in mind. As in why would you get a Cherry Viola switch board when you can get a Chery MX board at the same price.
The reviewer I've linked says there are spring pings (around 4:47). I think his conclusion was it's not bad for a budget board, but Corsair did not price it to be a budget board.

I will add a caveat and say that he was not expecting much from this design (the previous switch that Cherry had simliar to this was a really awful switch according to him), and because of his hobby, he had had some really bad keyboards. So he might be more generous with the comments he is making (but then again, reviews are subjective).
that review seems to be for the RGB version which might be different to this version?
He focusses more on the switches (unless the board has something notible on it). I doubt his opinion would be much different.
Viola switches were designed with more budget focussed board, $150 is enough to get yourself a Cherry Mx board (I am sure Corsair boards can be had at that price).
It's not to say Viola is bad (I don't know), but more the market segment the switch was targetting.
Abs, non-detacheable.. pass
What do you guys reckon? This or Typhoon MK86 Mechanical Keyboard Strike MK11 from OW $35. Just for general use
https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/typhoon-mk…
Build quality wise, Corsair:)
that typhoon looks like garbage, i would go with corsair if i had to pick from either one of those.
i would save up and get a custom mechanical keyboard. buy once, cry once.
Thanks guys
Total Travel = 4mm
Pre-Travel = 2mm
Actuation Force = 45 cNCherry Viola is a budget mechanical switch. The hope is to compete with membrane and other budget keyboards under $100

Got a K70 at work. Gonna purchase this, take the K70 home and leave this one at work.
…do I need this?
There's a sale on other keyboards at Mwave if anyone's interested:
https://www.mwave.com.au/searchresult?w=wtfkeyboardclearance…Perfect return to the office KB. Loud enough to annoy people but not enough to say/do anything about it.
Purchased.
So you're definitely… That guy.
It's membrane, so I doubt you'd annoy anybody with this.
Ordered as well, thanks OP.
Will be a decent 2nd keyboard for my WFH setup, I already use a K70 for my normal setup, so hopefully not too different to switch between stationsthis is el cheapo
Thanks ordered as a mod project for the wife. Good el cheapo full sized.
