USB C Gan Travel Charger

Looking at travelling a bit this year overseas, and now that pretty much all my devices are usb C charge capable I was just wondering what OzBargains thoughts on multiport usb c travel chargers are (having one would really make quite a bit of room in my suitcase as I wouldn't need powerboard/multiple power bricks and travel adapter).

I'm finding it hard to find any reputable brands with a charger in this category, but have looked at various heymix, baseus, amazon basics etc. I still would feel unsafe plugging my 4000$ MacBook Pro into any of these..

One I am eyeing up is ZyronTech 120w
or Invzi 100w

Anyway any thoughts or comments on these or other alternatives welcome.

  • I have a Mopoint 100w gan that I picked up from their Kickstarter. Took forever to arrive but it’s very good.

Looks like it’s the same one as Invzi one you linked. Mien came with an extension cable and a travel kit.

  • I'm using a heymix 65w for my daily charger on my HP Spectre x360 and the work Dell (it wants 100w but will take 65w on slow charge), hasn't skipped a beat while using it on 240v in Oz. I'm also trying to source as many items that use USB-C as I can so when I'm traveling I don't need 10kg of chargers in my luggage. It does run warm

Watch out on chargers that reduce max power limit on each port when you have multiple devices plugged in.

E.g. it supports 65W PD if one device is plugged in , but only max 15W when four devices are plugged in. In this instance your laptop is not powered, for example.

Otherwise I got the heymix one that was posted in ozbargain like many moons ago

  • I use a 100W+ (cant remember exactly how much, but like 115 or something) Heymix, and its pretty good. Haven't had any problems and the only annoying thing is that whenever you plug in or remove a device, it starts the charging process again (so makes the charging noise indicator).

If you want something reputable, use anker or satechi, but honestly, baseus, choetech, heymix are pretty much reskins of these.

edit: further comment - the invzi and the other one you've suggested look pretty much the same quality as the above brands I've mentioned…
