Recommendations for 55"+ TV - Budget $1000

Got $1000 to spend on a new TV 55" plus. No cheaper brands like TCL, Hisense. Will be on an entertainment unit (if that makes any difference). Mainly used for Nintendo Switch / Netflix / Kids' TV

Looking at rep of up to $1100 or so, then I can bargain.

  At $1000 for a 55"+ "cheaper brands"/"trash end of name brands" are your only option.

  Samsung had Au8000 TVs for about that price recently via their education store.

  I know you said not Hisense but I love mine. Its only a 58" as it's all I need due to a small home. I paid $700 delivered. I have seen deals for the 65" & 75" I think for under $1000 on sale.

    Only 58" lol. I know they come the size of cinemas now but that's still not small at all.

  Keep an eye on the sonyaustralia ebay store. They can sometimes have good bargains. I bought a 55” Sony X9500G seconds for $1100 that turned out well. Some others have had poor experiences with sony ebay so it is a bit of a roll of the dice!
