40 units in stock for each item as per their post on Facebook page

    • +13

Get your BCF chair and camp out the front ready 😉😉

      • +7

Already there, I'm first in line and going to buy everything they have. Going to miss 3.5 days of work, but it's worth it.

        • +3

Just say you are WFH. Full pay, plus annual leave accrued, plus super. And a great deal… after your campout

    • +16

Some products have up to 40 units of each, some have only a few. All products while stocks last!

      I wouldn't say 40 for each item

        • -1

The same fairy land you live in believing a business trying to establish themselves would scalp Playstations? Whether it's 1 or 40 units.

          • -1

@MBix: I'm not sure what fairy-tale you are in ?
My point is they will have little like 1-3 baiting people like you .
I don't mention they have any intention to scalp .
They make sure a friend will get it :)

              • @MBix: Sorry I don't have time to go over peoples profiles hehe :)
Check out my Putin theory :)

                • @popsiee: I did. And I think you've got it spot on if Putin doesn't have an agenda to recapture Ukraine and take them back to the "USSR glory days" he seems to fantasise (unlikely - as you pointed out too great a cost if the American warmongers imposed sanctions).

    • +3

Some products have up to 40 units of each, some have only a few.

    • +4

      Should’ve posted under Competition lol

  • +18

    Who the heck is hussh…?

    • +3

People gonna know soon with these prices, even if 99% of folk miss out.

  • +48

Downvoting because who knows how much stock they'll have. Switch OLED and PS5 would be likely to be single figures for instance.

    • -1

Can count 16 Switches included so that one is a valid deal at least ☺️

      • +13

There is no guarantee that what you see here will be available when you arrive.

        • +8

Oh well. Mods can decide how valid the post is.

As the wise man dealbot once said. Too many whingers 😉

        • But there is a guarantee that there will be nothing left by the time you arrive.

      • +4

Looking at all the photos it seems that the regular switch might be the only deal with sufficient quantity.

        PS5 I can see only 1 unit

        • -2

It's also spread across 5 days so there could be multiple units per day.

  • Do these guys deliver nationwide?

  • +1

    No online?

    • +3

The point of the sale is to get people into the store. Hopefully buy more stuff while there.

      • +6

You'd be surprised how many people don't understand that concept.

        • Doesn't hurt to ask.

Unless you have no energy to type then maybe it might be life or death.

  • +1

    Who is hussh

    • +6

      It's a secret

      • +3

        shhhhhh

“ Australia’s No. 1 destination for genuine discount warehouse sales”, stated on their website

      • No.1 or only one?

  • Are they opening in Brisbane anytime soon

  • +5

they are probably gonna hide that 1 ps5 in the photos out the back for staff right after taking the photo.

    • +1

yeah that's true, for staff only.

      • +1

Is this a subsidiary of dick smith?

  • +2

As expected a controversial post. Happy Sunday everyone! I'm gonna go enjoy happy hour at the pub rather than getting upset and triggered over a deal in VIC I can't take advantage of.

    Have fun 😉

  • +9

Going to be like an ALDI special, the run up will be fun. I can see many disappointed faces and angry "customers".
500 people trying to get a PS5 with minimal stock.

    • +1

      Now that's a good idea!

      Aldi selling PS5's.

      • Hey i got my xbox one s from aldi on valentines day 2018

    • +4

I literally don't even bother with ALDI specials anymore.

12+ months of logistics issues and shipping delays and I'm done with dancing around for a megacorp.

  • +1

Given what I've seen with people getting into punchons over toilet paper, I'd be willing to forgo getting my head caved in for an OLED Switch.

    • +5

What about a cheap PS5? Surely that is worth a good head caving?

      • +1

If it comes with two controllers so I can play with someone while I'm in hospital, then sure.

  • +12

Anyone care to stream the opening day like auspost stamps for $1.10?

  • +1

can we price match :D hahahhaha

    • -2

      hahahhaha

      What's funny?

      can we price match

Sure, you they still have stock by the time you go somewhere to price match (which they won't).

      • Your answer is also the answer of your own question.

      • it was a sarcastic comment if you did not get it :D hahaha

        • +1

          :D hahaha

          What's funny?

it was a sarcastic comment if you did not get it

Sure, you made a joke and it whooshed right over my head and I had a rant about it (because I didn't get it).

  • +1

I wonder why they sell the ps5 for way below rrp, when they could sell for even $700 and still be sold out in a day

      • +2

        Or baiting .

    • +2

It would be gone within minutes even if they listed It for $800.

    • Cause they don't.

    • It’s called baiting to get foot traffic. Oldest trick in the book. They make ppl come down thinking they “might” get a ps5 for 600 bucks eventho they have 0% chance and they end up looking around and buying some other crap .. targeting impulsive consumers.. this mob should get their cheque book out.. large consumer affairs fine coming their way.

  • +5

$629 for a PS5? Punchons for sure, don’t forget to bring popcorn

    • I hope someone can live stream…it will be awesome reality TV.

  • +4

    WHEN

    Thu 17th Feb 2022 10:00am - 10:03am

    FTFY

    • +10

Does this time include the wait for the ambulance and/or hospital stay after someone stabbed you for the PS5?

  • +2

This sale may as well be held out the back of a white van lol

  • +5

Why do all the products have yellow "checked" stickers?

Perhaps this is RMA stock or something, which might explain the heavy discounting. If so, stay far far away.

    Edit:
Looking closely at the photos, this indeed appears to be RMA stock. They are using those yellow stickers and shrink-wrap to reseal the products. And AirPods too… yuck.

    • What is RMA stock?

      • +1

        Returned items, repackaged, selling again.

    • +1

The PS5 box immediately looked suss given how torn that corner is.

  • -1

Hang on so, 10am on Thursday is in 4 days (at time of writing) and an unknown quantity of some products (I see comments like 16 Switches etc) will be at the store at incredibly low prices… Why not just open pre-orders for pick up only? Would save a bunch of angry people who come in… 17th or worse for Switch, and especially the PS5, $629 is fantasy pricing - like where you'd expect it to be, on sale in an alternate reality where COVID never happened.

    • +4

Because then they would have to announce when there is no more stock and they cannot take any further orders. Like this everyone will be kept in the dark and enticed to come to their store. The small glimmer of hope to get items for such a cheap price will draw the crowd. If the sheep know there are no items, they will not go. Hence, the promotion fails its purpose to get people there. Human nature implies that there is a chance they might buy another product instead when they miss out on what their initial purchase intention was.

      • Ah so just straight up shady business practice. Cool, "hussh" is on the blacklist.

        • +1

So no different to any store that has ever announced any sort of promotion. Cool!

          • @MBix: Yes it's completely different, let me help you with assessing this correctly.

They are selling a SMALL quantity of parts at ridiculously low prices, in order to scam people into waiting at their store, before they open. An extremely small group of people will get these prices, everyone else will miss out, these prices aren't real, it is borderline false advertising, have a look at Kammi's post below if you'd like an education.

            Completely, different.

            • @conza: So basically the same as every eBay Plus Promotion ever? Cool!

              • -3

@MBix: Yes but it's eBay so it's different as they would say. Literally is no different but OzBargainers surprisingly can't see it.

    • +2

Because the whole point of this is to get people in the door.

  • +7
    • +1

Rofl close then down b4 they sold anything haha

    • +3

did you read what you linked?

'You must state clearly if the good is in short supply or on sale for a limited time.'

'Huge variety of brands and products. Some products have up to 40 units of each, some have only a few. Here's a sneak peek of the setup in progress. '

      • No I didn't read the link to the deal, I read the link I posted.

"If there is not a reasonable chance the offer will be available at the advertised price, you may be in breach of the ACL unless you promptly offer a 'rain check', an acceptable substitute product or take other corrective action."

What do you think my chances are of scoring a ps5 lower then rrp from this joint? Reasonable?

        • What do you think my chances are of scoring a ps5 lower then rrp from this joint? Reasonable?

They haven't actually stated that they're selling the PS5 for $629 as a promotional item. Hussh could easily say something like "We've advertised there's a sale on Sony / Playstation, and showed photo evidence of multiple PS5 Controllers (there happens to be 1x console in the background)".

          • @rompastompa: If a sticker showing $629 for a ps5 isn't promotional then I don't what the interpretation is…

There's ps5 stock issues everywhere except from scalpers. For anything below RRP… Well, its too good to be true? No? I'm the one misleading people?

            • +1

@Kammi: No you're certainly not misleading people.
$629 for a PS5 Disc is too hard to believe in the current landscape. I've never heard of Hussh before, but seeing PS5's priced like this isn't giving me good optics for a company.

  • +2

Bonus! No work on Thursday… might get my fighting outfit cleaned and ready…

  • +5

I remember a new cheap crap shop opened up near me and they did a similar thing with Nintendo Wiis for $100. This was when they were $3-400. They might have had 50 of them, not sure. Either way as you'd imagine sold out in 10 mins. But everyone was talking about it. I worked for a near by electronic retailer and the amount of entitled pigs that came in demanding I price match a vague word of mouth sale that had sold out over a week ago at a retailer we had no way of verifying a price (not that i would ever match it) was bordering comical.

  • +5

    Ps5 629. Good luck

    • Accc class action… good luck

  • Hmm… their price tags look similar to JB Hifi

    • Yeah it's paper /s Price tags are great way to make a sale. Chemist Warehouse ones look like everything is on sale when they're not.

  • -3

    Springvale.. yeah, good luck.

    • With? I’m assuming there’s 1 less person on line …
      So yeah

      • I'll explain for you:

For each 1 less person in line, there's a million others taking their spot (a million years before you even get there).

    • Good for me, ten minutes away.

      • -1

Can you get me 1 of those great pork rolls .
I wonder why they only accept cash hehe :)

  • -1

anyone know the address so i dont have to sign up to their website?

    • +2

It is literally in the post description

      • iknewthis

  • +2

I want to watch it live streamed. It will be funny to watch.

  • +3

Been reading 1984 again and got to the part where it mentions about how the lotteries they had were scams. Sure a some real people won small amounts but no one one real one the big one.

So it seems appropriate for this "deal". Winston says no deal, until he gets negged and then he will love this deal.

    • I hope no one has employed a line sitter/stander hehe :)

    Any photos of the queue?
