Reviews on webpage seems pretty poor on its anc and design

I'm upvoting this because you clearly put the RRP and the last sold price in the title. Also it seems like not a bad deal, even though it's not something I want or need.

      +1 for honesty

You're being a douche, and I kinda like it.

You forgot the "not" at the end lol.

"even though it's unnecessary to comment if it's not something you want or need"

noise cancellation is poor, and there is a heavy box where you house a AA battery. Not very practical.

    • +2

Takes a AAA battery, not AA.

    • Any alternatives at this price?

I lost my last pair over a year ago and miss them dearly, this deal is insane for active noise cancellation. I paid $79 in 2016 and that was still a good deal then.

Just bought a pair, thank you OP.

      • I use the Sony MDR-650AP on commutes.

        • That's nice.

          Are they active noise cancelling?

    • To be fair, this is a very old product. I bought this at least 6 years ago - so don't compare it with the modern ANC which is much more sophisticated than this. Otherwise, it still does the job reasonably well.

  • It needs a AA battery?….ah nah will pass.

    • Takes a AAA battery, not AA.

      • Even worse… I got too many AA batteries to use

    • AAA battery. Lasts for ages.

solid build, decent sound, better than nothing ANC. good value for $29.

Got this and use it on plane precovid, it works OK to block the engine sound, can plug to on plane headphone jet with the adapter.

The battery box is annoying if you walk around with it, but for $29 just for air travel is worth it if you do not have any other anc headphone.

    • I was wondering whether it would be any good for air travel and was going to ask the question. Thanks for sharing :)

  • I used to use these and they are better than nothing but if you're looking for a better wired option the Shure 215SE are great passive noise isolating, and block out way more noise without the need for a battery

    • +2

The Shure 215SE looks ok but is it worth it at 5x the price? This is OzB after all :)

      • +1

They seem to have gone up in price, when I got them they were around $99 which I think they're worth for that price but not too much more

    • Apparently neither those or ones the OP mentioned exist (not on crinacle)

      • +1

Oops they're the Shure SE215 I had the order wrong.

        • Those exist!

Upvoted for last sold price mention.

I bought it a few years ago for $79. The major issue is the heavy AAA box that makes it a hassle when walking/running. Also, the plastic clip of that box is fragile. Not really powerful ANC, but better than nothing. I would say for $29, this might be a good deal.

  • Whats the difference between free shipping and free shipping express? Wouldnt everyone just choose the express option

  • Would be cool to use the ANC module here to mod some other brand earphones into having ANC.

    • hmm.. you know how ANC works right? All ANCs have a microphone inbuilt to take in the ambient noise and does its magic to counter it with the equivalent negative waves. The microphone is usually different from the regular ones you use to record voice or takes calls on. Other brand earphones may not have the capability to do this.

      • Im assuming the microphone is in the module connected to the wires, but of course if it's in the earpiece itself, then it would make it a lot more difficult

  • According to google this product was released back in 2013… Headphone tech has come a long way since then.
