Overseas YouTube Premium - RIP Soon?

Got this below email.
Anyone else received the same?
And most importantly anything we can do to keep the premium except paying full australian price?
I'm with Premium India.


Confirm your address to avoid losing YouTube Premium access

Dear xxxxxx,

You are currently in a YouTube Premium (formerly known as YouTube Red) family plan, and we need you to confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements. Unless we hear from you, your YouTube Premium access will be put on hold in 14 days. All YouTube Premium family members must live in the same household (residential address) as the family manager.

You can contact us anytime by phone, email, or live chat.
If we don’t hear from you, your YouTube Premium family plan access will be put on hold until you confirm your address. You’ll remain in your family group and be able to access the free version of YouTube, but you will no longer have access to ad-free viewing, exclusive original content, and other YouTube Premium features.

    Just Google a business in the country you picked and use it's address maybe

  • As long as you are communicating with everyone in your plan and all put the same address you should be fine. But if one address is different you can expect them to can your membership.

    • Ok ill email my family manager, he should get everyone to update their addresses

    Do they want you to confirm your address, or prove your address?

  • What proof do they want?
    Drivers lic or bills for verification?

  • no one else got the email - hmm i wish the email is just a scam email and i can ignore….

    • Unless there's a "click here to update your account" link sadly unlikely to be a scam.

      Doing a quick google, there have been people reporting getting this email for years, sounds like you just lost the lottery on this one.

      • Yup there is contact us button.
        But this email is just for youtube so i don tknow how scammers can know it

  • I also received the same email today, but not sure what happened. Any feedback OP, is it a scam? If not did you manage to resolve it?

    • tell them the same address as your premium account owner and all good after that

      • Thanks, did you report using contact us button and sent email? Looks like they have options for call/chat/email. Not sure how they got me even though my other family members accounts are ok and no email.

        • cant remember but one of them. probably chat is enough. everything are being saved anyway. (by them).

          maybe because you have 2 google accounts (one is the real one with au address and one with india address for example for youtube purposes only) ?
          thats my case. probably same ip address switching 2 accounts from 2 diff. countries thats why it got picked up

            Are they ok with the response that we the address is same as family manager address. Thinking whether they cross question and how to manage😟

            • @IDontKnowWhyImHere: i remember first i contacted the manager he gave me his indian address then i changed my indian account with that address and then told them (email/chat forgot).

              so at least i know im not the special one!
              well ok mystery solved. i live around google so i dont want to have indian address on my main gmail…

                • @IDontKnowWhyImHere: How did you go? I just encountered this issue. Main account is in NZ but using YouTube Indian premium account. Additional family member also in NZ at different address. Not sure if I should give the Indian address or the NZ address.

                  • @kiwijunglist: the same address as the one used by the youtube premium manager.
                    ie. who setup and pay for the premium? that is the manager. all family must have the same address as the manager

  • One of my family members lost their premium access today, even though our profiles had the same address, it looks like google/youtube is cracking down on this, is there any way to get around this issue?

    I have tried removing/readding them to the family, but it seems similar to netflix trying to get more fees and stopping the small benefits that we get sharing as a group.

    • well we are the one breaking rules anyway. we are not family but pretending to be one
