I'm interested to buy them online from Woolworths and have them delivered for convenience, but I am wondering if that is okay and I'm a little concerned on the freshness of the product.
Thanks in advance~

Uhhhhh
i don't eat oysters but others in my family do and ive never thought that the woolies/coles ones smelt that fresh, not terrible, but not like the ones from a local supplier, mussels are still alive when you buy them, i think it would be ok but who knows, mussels are easy to tell if they are bad though, any open or broken mussels should be thrown away because they are likely dead, although you can give the open mussels a tap on the shell with a knife or something, sometimes they close up themselves after that and it shows they are alive still, then obviously when cooking if they dont open up, then throw them away, i would assume woolworths use refrigerated trucks but im not 100% on that, all mussels are professional packaged and dated properly, oysters are a little different, i think it would be fine for both(as in you won't get sick) but you would get much fresher and nicer oysters from your local oyster supplier
Some independent seafood places will deliver too.
I have had them a fair bit and yes everyone is right they're definitely not the freshest and most are very tiny and lack taste also seem to dry up being left in the big fridge uncovered.
Any local seafood shop will be alot bigger and usually the same price as Woolies. Now I always make the effort to buy from any local seafood shop be it prawns, bugs etc
Have a š on FB market for black market seafood. They're normally freshly caught and will deliver ASAP.
Often when I get fresh groceries delivered, they send the oldest looking fruit and veg or meat. Not the selection you would make if you were picking yourself. Imagine the oysters they would pick, then they will sit on a truck for a while. Iād give that a miss.
Had some WA oysters delivered from Clamms. Quite good.
Are they delivered shucked or unshucked?
Purchasing either of those from woolies
