Paying for the brand more than anything else I'd say. Is the case with most gaming mouse pads from popular companies like Razer or Logitech.

    • Depends - sometimes branded aren't anything special eg Corsair but HyperX mousepads are feel very nice and people often seem to favour Steelseries.

I have no experience with Razor but this is a good price for a pad of this size.

    • Razer has actually done a lot of good with their mouse related stuff lately. Extremely competitive with the viper mini, orochi, gigantus v2, and even the strider to some degree. This pad is genuinely one of the best options for a cheap mousepad (at least the non-huge sizes). Pretty different from what they used to be.

No threaded edges = rubbish product in about 1 month.

They can also hurt a bit after a long day/night of gaming.

    • Bought the medium-sized one in July of last year for $14. It has yet to show signs of wear.

      Credit where it's due.

    • I have had mine for about 6 months - no problems with mine.

I've been using steelseries non threaded for 2years now I clean it with running water every 3-6 months still looks and feel new.

never thought to try that .. and now I feel "duh!".

Thanks for a clean mousepad. =)

    • Gigantus V2 holds up pretty great for an un-stitched edge pad honestly. It's a bit rough if you use it right on the edge of your desk and your forearm/wrist rubs on it though.

    These are overpriced garbage.

Will second all of the above comments. Non-branded ones with decent edging can easily be had for under $12 all day long - don't waste your money on the marketing hype

Would definitely recommend this NZXT one - https://nzxt.com/en-AU/product/nzxt-large-mouse-pad - had it for 2 years, its gotten dirty but after washing its pristine, like new. No wear, no fraying and subtle design

If anyone is looking for a mouse that isn't as big - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07VVS6RG5?smid=ANEGB3WVEVKZB&t…

Not as good as previous deals but it's a good mouse pad.

I checked the link and it recommended this: AmazonBasics Extended Gaming Mouse Pad https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B06X19FLTC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt…

    • Thanks. I bought this

  • I'm using an old Razer Vespula mat as it's been fantastic, but it and it's V2 version have been discontinued with no obvious replacement. This one's wearing out, any suggestions OzB crew?

  • Combined with Razer ViperMini (unfortunately RVM has no surface detection sensor to hit a price point), this is an extremely solid pad.

You do pay for the brand a little bit. It has issues with losing glide during humidity, as with most control pads. I actually prefer this versus the Xraypad Equate that I have.
