  How do these SSDs fare against Intel 520s?

    Note this: The Strontium Gamma is 9mm tall and will not fit into notebooks which only allow 7.5mm drives. The Matrix is also 9mm tall by default, but you can decrease its height to 7.5mm by removing the plastic spacer in between the top and bottom halves of the casing. It's not clear if doing so will void the drive's warranty, and you'll also have to find shorter screws.

  Thorough review….however be aware that it performs quite poorly compared to the mainstream SSD makers, hence the value oriented price.

  Still a decent buy but be aware you're not getting 1st or 2nd tier SSD performance.

    "The Strontium Gamma may be targeted at users on a budget, but it is no slouch when it comes to performance. With a price tag of S$265, the Gamma is currently the cheapest 120GB SSD on sale in Singapore. The next closest is the Intel SSD 320 120GB, which is markedly inferior in performance."

    "If your system lacks support for SATA 6Gbps, this is a drive worth considering. Otherwise, we would rather fork out a bit more for a faster 6Gbps drive such as the Strontium Matrix."

      Good point that it doesn't do SATA3. Might want for others to go down.

  Relax, this is the beginning of the SSD price drops. The m4s and the vertex 3s will be following soon.

  We're barely hitting the dollar per gig range on those. I'm waiting for it.
