Hi people
Just received an email from BP Rewards. You can convert 1900 point for $10 at the shop to pay for fuel. Is this a better way to utilise the Qantas points?

Thanks, what will be a good payout ratio to be?
I aim for a minimum of 2c/pt.
How do you manage that?
@shertiger: Reward seat, ideally Business or First class. Easily close to or above 5c/pt.
Still works out close to the $0.005/pt mark. Not the best value.
I thought so too, if they make it easier to convert your points to dollars there got to be a catch.
You can buy most assorted gift cards via Qantas at 19k per $100, so it's about the same rate.
Sure, but they do discount at 20% time to time.
Always save points for reward seats unless you are desperate.
This is a rort. You earn 2x on Premium fuels per litre at BP.
For easy numbers, let's say you fill up 25L = 50 Qantas FF pts.
To get 1900 QFF pts, you need to fill up your car exactly 38 times with 25L to get 1900 pts.
And they only give you $10 off.
Rort. No doubts about it.
Keep the pts for something else worthwhile.
The useful side of the trickle of points is that it keeps your qff account active.
If you purely want fuel discounts, BP rewards pts have a higher return.
Poor pay off ratio
