Sorry about the previous 25% cashback post. It's a actually only 15%, as confirmed by TA.

(I missed the "up to" fine print 😬)

    • +4

Yes, it was very tiny in the email and banner (and multi stores too), I was waiting to find out the exact %off, good work!

    • +2

Yea, must've commented that on your original post just before it got taken down.
The small print is definitely misleading, especially considering that when you click on the banner it doesn't specify the rate or take you to t&cs with the actual rate in it.

I'm always supporting Cashback sites when people are complaining about tracking and whatnot, but in this case I'm definitely disappointed that they have to resort to such misleading advertising.

    • I would wait for shopback as they haven't come up with a promo this week with first choice i suppose

  • +1

I will hold for 25% to complete the 2nd week of $120.

    • give me a minimum of 20% + stackables or give me water!

    • Roll of the dice that another FC offer is coming this week.

  • Is the 10% discount from yesterday still running?

  • +2

i thought it was 25% as well from the email.

    damn small print

    • -3

Typical misleading advertising by cash rewards

      • Crazy, I'm used to the questionable Cashrewards promotional 'style' but I missed this one, read it as 25% when I skimmed over it this morning. Now that I've revisited it I've seen the words 'up to'… do smaller fonts exist?

    • Yeah this was a bit low bar IMO. A lot of retailers do this and it’s crap, basically robs consumers of trust in the brand. Cashrewards don’t seem to do this much and I like them but I hope they don’t do it in the future. Or just be specific and say for e.g. 25% cash back on Spumante cask wines at First Choice!

  • My targeted flybuys points of 8k disappeared from the flybuys app… did this happen to anyone else when they satisfied the first week?

    • mine isn’t showing as well.

    • +2

I have had that happen with the deals like spend $100 a week for 4 weeks …. the deal still works as long as you have met each weeks requirement.

    • Yes, disappeared here too

    • Same here.

Looks like a bug in the app. I'm guessing the multi-week edge case was not properly accounted for, for display purposes.

The actual offer still works, though.

      • Thanks all, good to know. Just wanted to make sure

      • +2

I don't know how to link the other thread here, but I had same issue and FB advised after 1st week these sort of offers no longer appears in your App but as long as you activated it's still there in system…

    • did anyone get confirmation of satisfying the 1st week?

      • +1

Nope, but then again I never have in the past. Except on bottom of coles receipts as part of the multi week FB offers

      • @Irishness: Yep, just got the email. (See my comment below.)

    • mine did too, but then got an email saying "hey, don't forget to spend $50 for week 2 for 8K rewards" or some wording like that

      • +1

        @altomic: 🤔

All I got was a "Shop before Sun 6 Feb 2022 to unlock week 2!" email after I activated the offer. Nothing after that.

NVM. Just got a "LAST CHANCE for 8,000 bonus points with First Choice Liquor Market! Shop ‪before Sun 13 Feb 2022‬ to qualify!" email which also states that Week 1 has been completed.

    • if you have activated that offer, don't worry it will be back.

  • Yes, mine disappeared too

  • +1

Tough call…..Take this one or wait for another cashback before Flybuys week 2 offer expires…25% would have been perfect

  • +2

15% excl GST not enough. 10% instant rebate a couple of days back was better than 13.64% after 100 days.

    A $ today is better than a $ tomorrow!

    • +1

      Agree.

Shopback wins for booze cashback deals.

  • I asked this in the other post before it was deleted. There's a problem where a lot of items say "Out of stock in QLD" when trying to C&C, even though they're in stock. Any type of cask wine for example.

Do any other states have this problem?

    • +1

the fc website is crap, so many items in my local store are not on the website

      • And I have the opposite issue. FC website shows orders as in stock at my local yet when I purchase online they promptly cancel the order and say it's not in stock. Very frustrating that they don't give me the opportunity to pick a replacement item or choose to pick up from another store where it's available.

        • @harthagan: Not sure if there's something fishy going on with your local in particular, but this can legitimately happen if either the online SOH is incorrect and the actual quantity available is less than what you ordered, or if the quantity you ordered was available but by the time your order was picked, enough had been sold in-store or picked for other orders such that your order couldn't be fulfilled.

This has happened to me a couple of times. The first time, I got a call from the store offering to either do a refund of the shorted items or do a substitution. I told them "heck no" to a refund as it would negate my cashback, but asked instead to do a substitution without modifying the order. The did exactly that and I ended up getting my cashback.

The second time, I turned up to the store, without checking my phone to see if all my orders had been picked, only to find that one had been cancelled as "not enough stock available" even though there was a whole stack of the beer that was in that order on display.1 I rang Customer Support and they simply resent the same order back to the store, and I ended up getting the cashback.

I'm guessing that thanks to COVID and being busier than normal, they've stopped ringing up and are just cancelling the orders.

Next time, I would suggest going to the store, checking if they've enough stock available, and if so ringing Customer Support then and there. Once they've pushed the order back to the store you can get a team member to pick the order. Or if they're "too busy", just do so yourself and take the item(s) to the registers.

          1. Note that it's quite possible that there was insufficient stock available at the time they attempted to pick the order, but more stock had arrived since then.

    • @SpaceOdyssey: 🤔

I do know that here in WA, if the Click & Collect store that you've set is out of stock (according to their system, not necessarily in-store) of a particular item, you get an "Out of stock in WA" message when trying to add it to your cart. If you switch to a store with stock, it works just fine. (IIRC I tested this for a couple of other states and got the same result.)

Maybe this is related to that bug?

      • Looks like every store in QLD has this issue with cask wine. If I change to a NSW postcode then it works. Weird.

        • +1

@SpaceOdyssey: If you do a search for "cask" with your cart set to Click & Collect from a Queensland store, you'll notice that the Click & Collect icons for all the casks are greyed out instead of being gold with either a green tick or red cross corresponding to the stock availability.

Looks like a different bug to the one I mentioned.1

As a workaround I would suggest contacting Customer Support and seeing if they are willing to change the Click & Collect store of an order you put through from one in NSW (or another state) to your local in QLD. Have your order ready to be submitted, but don't do so until they agree to do the swap.

          1. My bug results in just
            "Removed product […] in WA as it is no longer in stock.";
whilst yours displays an extra line
"No stock found for product […] in QLD
Removed product […] in QLD as it is no longer in stock."

Liquor? I dont even know her!

  • +2

Please be careful with refund from FCL. I did not collect an order during the lockdown and told it would be refunded. After 4 weeks, nothing happened. It was processed straight away after another phone call which imo was quite unacceptable for a business of this size.

    • Had this happen twice too!

    • Ditto. An email to customer service fixed it. Totally unacceptable.

    Good Tides Seltzer.
$65 for the last week, showing that the normal price was $70.
    Today $99.

  • +1

I'm not sure I mentioned this, but I noticed price hikes in most the wines I've bought over the last 24 months.

One of the $140 bottles, is now $160

Some of the $25, are $36

Because I generally look at the same wines, it's easy to go back through my orders to see what I paid.

    • I think there were general price hikes (of alcohol) around mid year or in the second half of 2021.

      • @nismo: It's actually worse than that. Most of the price increase is due to the six-monthly CPI-based alcohol tax increases, the last of which was 2.1% on Feb 1.

NVM The above doesn't apply. Wine is subject to wine equalisation tax, not excise duty.

        • I just recalled a friend seeing a sign at the bottle shop ard mid last year saying prices had gone up

And noticing a bit of a bump in stuff I regularly buy

  • BWS must be due!

Damn that email was misleading… thought it was 25%.

  • Does your cart in Firstchoice needs to be empty first?

    • @choister: Officially, yes, it is recommended that your cart be empty initially to avoid any potential issues, but I've never had a problem when I've already had items in my cart.

  • Your move @shopback

  • Just purchased 12 wines @ $120. Got an email from CR. They tracked $36.36 as purchased amount and gave me $5.45 in reward. Is it just me?

    • also picked up 12 for $120.

tracked at $27.27 with $4.09 cashback.

      something is up

      • Fixed now.

        • @Miso - Please see here.

    • I got this exact same tracking ($36.36 spend, $5.45 cashabck). Bought the 12x wines @ $120 and a carton of Corona.
My 2nd order for XXXX tracked exactly correct however.

      • @knobbs - Please see here.

        • Yep mine has correctly updated now, cheers

          • @knobbs: Thanks for confirming :)

    • +1

@MOMEHT - Hi. This tends to happen with FCL (and a couple of other stores) when multiple SKUs are purchased in the same transaction. Please allow a few hours and the transaction should auto-adjust to the correct amount in your CR acct. If it doesn't, please let me know tomorrow :)

      • Hi @tightarse, just checked my account and it looks like the issue is resolved. The correct cashback amount is now shown ($16.36). Many thanks!

  • Prices look a little inflated compared to usual price of the wine I usually get.

Also first choice take forever to deliver.

  • Damn, missed it. Any new cashrewards deal else coming soon for FCL?
