  • Unless you're going for two pcie gen 4 SSD's instead of one, the b550i version might make more sense for a little less money and the inclusion of 2.5gb/s Lan.

    • and also need to be careful with X570, it doesn't provide the front USB-C and the fans on the board are sometimes quite noisy

  • Got one of these for a fairly beasty Meshlicious build with an x5950 and it's been great though I haven't done any OCing or extensive performance testing/comparisons. Haven't had any issues with it at all in the couple of months I've had it.

Good to keep in mind the caveats other posters have mentioned, I don't personally ever notice the x570 chipset fan over the noise of the CPUs EK 280 AIO but it is annoying that it's a potential point of failure so if you don't need the extra stuff, as mentioned the b550i version might be a better choice

  • For that price go with the B660-I instead and benefit from Intel's better-value CPUs, every Ryzen is currently more expensive than equivalent performing 12000 series CPUs. AMD only makes sense if you're saving $100 on the motherboard or you already have one.

  • I've got one of these, at the time b550 wasnt a thing yet
can confirm the chipset fan can be obnoxious
you wont hear it on normal load, but it sounds like a boiling kettle whistle when gaming
but that's only if you're running your CPU fan on silent mode, otherwise the CPU fan noise will drawn the chipset fan noise
