Fantastic deal on this unit, matching Harris Scarfe price (who are also offering free shipping https://www.harrisscarfe.com.au/electrical/linen-care/la-iro…)

Well cheaper than others, some by over $100. Have used this unit over many years, some people like it, some don’t. So long as it’s used right you can avoid soaked clothes.

UPDATE: Changed to dispatched within 2-4 weeks, price stays the same for now. Still available at Harris Scarfe.

  • I’ve been confused by the purpose of this.. is it to keep the clothes clean, or to perform ironing?

    • +1

Yep, they're iron replacements, essentially your iron is a simpler version of this, that's why most decent ones have that water canister you can fill up. This one is a dedicated version of that where you can hang your clothes and just go to town without having to constantly move it on your ironing board. They're how many professional places keep their clothes wrinkle free!

I wouldn't say iron replacements, irons give a much better result for shirts, you get neater and sharper creases and such. There are some clothes I wouldn't iron like suit jackets, delicates like rayon, etc. that would be more suitable for a steamer though.

Wow 7 bucks off.. WHAT A DEAL!

    • Have you seen how much these usually cost at traditional retailers? Clearly not…

  • Is it easier to ‘iron’ with these compared to traditional irons? Keen to hear from those who have made the switch.

    • +2

No.. Get a good steam iron.. These are landfill after the novelty wears off. Even for suit pants and jackets you are better off hanging from a door entry and using the steam iron. You really need the high grade store ones for any real benefit.
