I've never seen it this big before 😍😍😍

    • +2

      Size doesnt matter.
      Thats what they say…

  • Is this store specific?

    • +1

Not sure.. price ends in .97 so might be store specific as it’s a clearance item.

      • +1

        Same price @ crossroads

    • +1

Its the same price at docklands, Vic, so it may be national

    • Same price at the Canberra store.

    • Same price at Ringwood

  • +1

    They're grrrreeat.

    • even better if add generous amount of sugar to it. :D

  • +2

OMG…. I loved Frosties growing up in UK…Tony The Tiger…those were the days…

And if I lived in Lidcombe they well could be again.

    • Same.. these, Ricicles and Shreddies

    • Yeah I fell in love with them living in Japan. Was the only cereal I could find, and I'm not a fan of Japanese style brekkie. Its nostalgic for me but my fat ass really shouldn't be eating them lol. 1.1kg is huge. Pretty sure the blue box is like 1/4 the size.

  • -1

lol I thought these were banned in Australia because of its high sugar content or maybe that's just colesworth

    • +6

They sell them at both Coles and Woolworths.

      • -6

Maybe they reduced the sugar content as they were banned awhile ago

        • +4

          They were never banned

        • -6

          Neggers please

  • Gonan buy a pack. These were outlawed at home when i was a kid. Going to relive the missed experience.

    • We made our own Frosties, with store brand Korn Flakes and store brand sugar. Honestly nowhere near as good as real Frosties.

  • That's cheaper than buying sugar. Just use this for your tea and coffee /s

"Lass ihn raus, den Tiger, seig ihnen was du kannst. Die Kellogg's Frosties schmecken so, die wecken den Tiger in dir!"

Still remember the German Frosties jingle from the 90s.
Must have taken them at least 3 minutes to come up with that!

    • +1

That's exactly the same as the US 90s jingle, just translated into German.

  • +1

Show em you're a tiger, show em what you can do. The taste of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, brings out the tiger in you!

About 2 stars higher than they should be

"Year of the Tiger Edition" aka special run for Chinese new year……so clearance for sure

    • Yeah I'm curious how they get it up to 2 myself…

      • The minimum is 0.5 stars for a start.

        • +1

Ok, so it should be 0.5 then.

If you read the nutritional panel its 41.3grams per 100grams is plain old sugar (https://www.kelloggs.com.au/en_AU/products/frosties-product.…)

For interests sake a mars bar is 57.5grams per 100grams of plain old sugar (https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/mars-bar-chocol…)

its really not that different when one is marketed as a cereal / a breakfast meal and the other is confectionary only recommended in moderation

@MrThing: Not to defend Frosties, but the star rating is only used to compare products within a similar range - from their website: "The Health Star Rating system…helps you quickly and easily compare the nutrition of similar products that you typically see in the same part of the shop." A look at the woolworths website shows that the lowest star they sell in cereal is 2, so this is the very bottom.

And not to defend the health star rating system, but it's dealing with the full breadth of nutrition - so yes, it has 41g of sugar but a mars bar is 16% fat (half of which is saturated), while this is only 0.5%. Top that off with the additional 2% fibre and 3% more protein and while I wouldn't love doing it to my body, I would pick the frosties over the mars bar.

Health star rating system website: http://www.healthstarrating.gov.au/internet/healthstarrating…

*edit to say that Frosties are also an enriched product so they've added vitamin E, niacin, vitamin B6, riboflavin, folate, iron and zinc oxide - which would also affect the star rating and my willingness to eat it over a candy bar.

@haircloudy: if its comparing cereals then, i still cant see how it rates a 2 but.

For it to compare there has to be something at 0.5 and something at 5 right?

    Tony the diabetic Tiger….

Hobbes is still the better looking Tiger.

  • +1

41.3 grams of sugar per 100g. That means this 1.1kg box contains 454g (nearly half a kilo) of sugar.

  • 2 star health rating so it’s partially good for you

Five star is not good for you.

The star system is a marketing device, applied to unhealthy processed food, to make consumers like you who haven't worked out that processed food is unhealthy, think it has health benefits.

The food processing sector developed the marketing to scam you.

    • consumers like you who haven't worked out

I guess you missed the “lol” at the end? Does “/s” resonate better with you?

    • The star system isn't only on processed foods. What about dried fruit for example?

  • Washed down with a 7 eleven slurpee and you pretty much got your weekly intake of sugar in one hit.

  • More unhealthy cereals available than healthy. No wonder kids are obese. Start a kid on this and they will never go healthy again.

      • hides in corner
      • remember childhood, eating frosties
      • crying remembering how awesome it was
      • looking at waist …
      • shouts I'm not obessssseeeee to no one
      • hids back in corner
      • Now look what you've done Geoff, you've triggered djones145

  • Used to love these growing up. Grabbed a box a few months ago for nostalgia sake and it tasted like pure concentrated sugar and diabetes. Not sure if the recipe has changed or it's just a byproduct of getting older.

  • has anyone tasted these recently to see if they are as good as you remember them to be, was thinking of getting a dozen but might just get 2 now

    • I ate them all the time growing up in America. I bought a box a year or two to see if they were as good as I remember them being, but was shocked at how sugary they are. Really over the top. I was going to share some with the kids, but thought it was best if I just ate them all to save them from the diabetes.

  • Showed this to the wife and she said why cant they bring back the pink coco pops with the elephant on the cover
