    new work shoes sorted.
This should help reflect the amount of the workload i have to lift…

    • someone get @sbob to the intensive back injury ward ASAP, he's done his back from carrying far too much.

Are these more for construction type people doing heavy lifting or would they work for warehouse workers lifting boxes?

    • +4

They are for lifting weights as exercise.

      they are not work shoes.

    • +1

      Do not walk/work in these.

Their heels are lifted aggressively and will throw out the way you walk real quick, putting more weight on the front of your foot.

They are designed for people unable to reach squat mobility in the gym due to their ankle mobility/hip structure.

      • +1

so they sort of helpfully tip you forward a bit, with support?

        • +2

yeah they help you stay upright when squatting by artificially increasing dorsiflexion (ankle mobility).

      • ill stay with my stilettos then

  • +5

Nah I think this colourway is actually quite nice.

  • Just a very ugly shoe… pretty the heel is also quite high compared to other squat shoes

    • try squatting more than just the bar, and you feel the difference.

      • The amount you can squat is not dependent on what shoe you wear… this is only for those that struggle with ankle mobility

        • that would be incorrect. you can squat more with weightlifting shoes.

ankle mobility? doesn't matter what shoes you wear, if your ankles are jacked, they are jacked. lol

it does help with less ankle flexion, greater knee movement, less displacement of the bar and hip, less stress on back, improve foot segment angle, etc…

I thought lifters preferred wooden shoes for the cool click clack sound on the boards.

    • I thought that was mainly the Dutch weightlifters

I might get a pair for my mother-in-law. They should help her deal with the major chip constantly on her shoulder

looks bulky.. only for weight lifting and no casual use for me…

    • its in the title,Weightlifting Shoes

If I hadn't already bought a pair of Romaleos 4s when they last popped up on OzB, I would be all over these. Have only heard great things about these. Supposedly a 22mm drop (can't see it confirmed anywhere by Reebok) is pretty good.

    Great deal, OP!

  • Does anyone know what the deal is with these shoes?
Haven't been able to get them in stock for other sizes for a long time.
Either they're discontinuing the product, or releasing a new one.

For all you out there saying it's not a dressy shoe.. it's a performance based shoe, these have zero practicality outside of the weight racks.
These aren't similar to Nike Metcons or anything of that degree.

    • I've always waited for a sale on these ones, but everytime there was a sale, size 9 would be out of stock in their last 40% off sale.

It's most likely because it's a niche market, and the demand isn't that high. So they probably don't restock once the sizes run out.

I bought the black ones couple of months ago for $170. They improve my squat significantly. I would recommended them to anyone who suffers from knee issues or has trouble squatting deep. Definitely worth it over the chucks.
They are also very stable for shoulder press and curls. The cons are that they are very bulky and heavy (I think around 1 to 2 kg) and the heel structure are very weak. If you step on it too hard, it will bend and won't pop back in place.

    • Ooo I haven't heard that before, that's some really good info.
Begs the question how these would perform under a really heavy squat.

Can't press down with squatting and have the heel under you collapse.

  • Any idea on how these reeboks stack up to adidas adipower 1 sizing? 10.5US/10UK on adipowers

    • +1

Not sure with Adidpowers, but for the Nike Romaelo (version 2), and these Reebok Legacy ones, the sizing is half a size down your usual size. I'm a size 9 but 8.5 fit snuggly in these ones.

  • Far out I literally just bought these for $250 this morning!

    • Lucky Reebok have free returns. Just buy a pair now and return the other ones.

    • they sell for $230 retail

  • any reason i would wear weightlifting shoes instead of just going bare feet/socked?
