Might be difficult to get us all on board your coffee train. Inglewood and Airjo throw out some great deals at $35 kg with free delivery. Your blends do sound nice around $44kg plus delivery ( which includes the oz discount) might not be competitive enough. This is by no means comparing the quality of coffee on offer here just a price point. I wish you well.

Edit: Saw free shipping over $40 which is nice

I might be going against the grain but in my limited experiences haven't found the quality of Airjo or Inglewood to be as good as other top brands. Willing to give this a crack.

Op what would you recommend for an espresso drinker who likes acidic/fruity/lighter roast coffees?

      • Fair call - I haven't had OP's coffee so it could be much better than said mentioned other brands. I also buy from Mana Beans which is local in Brisbane. I love the quality of Inglewood and have found all batches good. Always like trying different beans and companies that others may recommend. Someone didn't recommend my comment above thou lol

    • Great prices maybe but quality? Meh I didn't like either one of them unfortunately. Still trying out different roasters to find something good.

I think we have traded comments in the past Wazza, your name stands out to me

    • Buying coffee beans on price alone is fraught. Might as well just go and buy a 1kg bag of stale Vittoria beans from Woollies and be done with it. I mean - they ARE cheap!

In my experience, Normcore are a step-above most ASCA roasteries in terms of dedication to their craft and the consistency of their product. Drop by one of their Sydney shops if you want to get a better idea of what they're about.

I've not tried Inglewood, but I have tried an Airjo blend and (for my brew methods and taste) Normcore exceeded it for quality by orders of magnitude.

      YMMV. HTH.

Thank you for the review, I will scroll through their blends and grab a kg of something

        • What is your preferred drink and brew method?

          • @[Deactivated]: I have the Breville Duel Boiler and my smart grinder - 2 shots of espresso then froth a little milk (so really just a strong flat white)

            • @tnarg: What blend do you recommend?
Have the exact setup and my go to is a strong flat white 🥳

@tnarg: Espresso with some milk? 'Damn Good' or 'Dingo' (blends) are great with a domestic machine and play VERY nicely with milk. If you want to try something different, they currently have some Ajere Yirgacheffe that is also SUPERB with milk thought a little lighter on mouth feel.

Normcore coffee is really good quality - one of the best in sydney IMO.

I hear you on price point - I think the market segment they are going for is different to the others, but as a long time customer i can happily state it's really good. They keep winning/placing in aeropress championships so are pretty clued up on what they are doing — this deal is maybe for the "fancy coffee bargain hunter"!

      • Have you been there when they make an Aeropress? The performance sits somewhere Russian ballet and rocket science. ;-)
