    • Thanks for the heads up.

Response from rep in the last deal

    • Different company.

From the rep… True, that was the korean purito brand, the australian Purito brand (us) has no connection and our products tested at SPF54 in-vivo (TGA / FDA Testing)
      And
The 40% Zinc Oxide sunscreen we sell tested at SPF86 in-vivo, but in Australia we can claim a maximum of SPF50+ due to TGA regulations.

  • Ooft - astivita - no thanks. That's got cancer written all over it.

    • Is this true?

      • SPF rating was super low (was advertised as 50 but bested at 19)

They are also not the only ones reporting higher SPF rating claims either but not by that huge margin

        Quote
Found 36 out of 53 sunscreens it tested were less protective than their packaging stated.

        • Should be noted that the rep had a response as per Chickenleg above. There is a difference in the Korean Purito and this Purito, apparently.

I'll agree that this is deceptive, but it's worth noting that SPF above a certain level has diminishing returns.

          • SPF 19 = 100 - (100 / 19) = 94.7% UVB blocked
          • SPF 20 = 100 - (100 / 20) = 95% UVB blocked
          • SPF 30 = 100 - (100 / 30) = 96.6% UVB blocked
          • SPF 50 = 100 - (100 / 50) = 98% UVB blocked

IMO, the most important factors to consider are how how long sunscreen lasts, how it stands up to water and how it feels.

  • Mustard oil, Coconut oil, Tea tree oil, almond oil, argan oil. Good for everything. Old school. No lab testing needed.

Right… because all of the other astivita products work so well?
They're cheap crap I'd hardly believe what they put in their products.

    check out that review though…..

    • Different company and product.

I got an Astivita sunscreen from the last deal, not sure what to expect but gave it a go.

It's awful and lathers on thick. I was sweating profusely, couldn't wait to have a shower.

Ended up binning it. I would avoid

    • +2

Agree, absolutely disgusting stuff. Absurdly thick.

Stop ageing with this one simple trick!

  • +3

Ordered from the last deal and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

It's like a thick layer of paint applied to your skin and hard to remove, therefore binned it.

    Please avoid.

I got it at last deal too.

It’s like zinc, not for all over body. Nice and thick for ears, nose , lips.

For 0.99c hard to go wrong

    • +1

Exactly, it's like the zinc cream that sportspeople such as cricketers use on their face for long days under the sun, excellent UV barrier protection that doesn't wipe off easily when sweating. That's why it's only 94g, which is sufficient for its purpose.

    • Yes seems to work just fine for this, been using them while out on the boat without issue.

I did give it a go on my arm once to see … will not try that again :)

  • ACE!

  • Really need to click and read the link posted @khoed792
    Before you buy

    • That’s a different company.

  • Hmmm tempted to get but can’t say I’m a fan of this sunscreen
