Going there later today.
Indians don't eat Pakistani rice anyway
Apologies, I wasn't aware this deal post was only for Indians…
I doubt there is any Woolworths store in India.
website says OOS near me (Melbourne west)
OOS near me
Cool !!!
plural noun: oos
a honeyeater (bird) found in Hawaii, now probably extinct, which had a thin curved bill and climbed about on tree trunks. So not extinct then. Long way from home.
Not available 😞
Out of stock at all my local Woolies.
Daawat is like plastic
My experience of Dawaat is very positive.
Although JV jokes, the grades of Basmati exported to Australia are better from India rather than Pakistan. I haven't tasted a good Pakistani grown Basmati, in Australia. The Indian grown brands are generally good.
Cant find any decent rice or even bread in my local woolies these days!
Or cooking salt.
If you like this Daawat variety, then check out Indian grocery stores. They are regularly on sale there at similar price.
Before anybody goes crazy, Hinata is basically sushi rice. You need to add the sugar, vinegar etc but it's by default a lot more sticky than other varieties. I quite enjoyed it by the end!
Yes, it is a bit too sticky for everyday use. I think we made a mistake by buying it.
Sushi, Onigiri etc will be perfect with this rice.
Yeah, that was the problem. I assumed it would be something like Jasmine rice. Not so much. I don't make a lot of sushi, let alone 5 Kgs of rice worth.
Shift your perspective - it's what I did. I realised that it was not what I was looking for, but just changed my expectations and made meals accordingly. I actually learnt how to make sushi by hand from this mistake!
If you eat a lot of rice (you have to now), you'll get through 5kg in no time.
Isn't Pakistani basmati rice better?
