Selected Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese Orders

Why not Italian, Mexican, Indian ???????

wild guess - probably something to do with the lunar new year?

      • +3

What about Taiwanese, Malaysian, Singaporean and Koreans?

        • +2

You could possibly argue that their cuisine isn't as widely available as the others, but then they left out Thai.

            @TheContact:

but then they left out Thai.

            Indonesian ?

            • @jv: Indonesia is a majority a Muslim country and they have had history of violence towards the Chinese popular or other cultures.

          • +2

@TheContact: Thailand doesn't observe Lunar New Year. The official new year is 1 January and Songkran is in April.

            • @PeterA07: Oh really? TIL. Had a quick google and came up that they did.

              • @TheContact: I was a bit short: you're sort of right, because there's a significant Thai Chinese population and they celebrate the new year. But it's not a "Thai" new year as such.

            • @PeterA07: That is incorrect.

Thailand has a decent sized Chinese population based in Thailand and I have been to Thailand before where they have decorations and celebrations for CNY..

Many Chinese background people from other countries visit the Thailand temples to pray and give offerings for the CNY regularly.

It's like Malaysia where they celebrate 3 cultures of religions (Chinese , India and Malays (Muslim)

          • @TheContact: Thai have a different date for their New Year.

          Thank you for recognising Taiwan

        • I copied the title from the banner which specifically lists those 3 cuisines. However, I can actually see restaurants outside of those 3 in my deals page with the same offer.

This MIGHT cover the delivery fee + plus service fee + dignity fee

Just used my $30 bundle voucher on a Japanese meal. No discount?

Also, uber fees + service fees seem higher, and looks like they've taken away the shared delivery discount too.. what a rip off.

    • From what I've seen, it is selected restaurants. You can scan through the deals page and see if the restaurant you ordered from is there/has Spend $30,Save $8 tag.

      • Should apply to "all Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese" restaurants according to the email, but I don't see any restaurants with the offer active. When I click the banner all I get is an error message saying "Oops, something went wrong." so appears to be an unobtainable deal for me.

    • The Bundll voucher is a promo code. It can't be stacked with other promotions.

It can't be used together with gift cards either and any amount over $30 has to be funded through your Bundll virtual card or else the $30 promotional credit won't be applied to the order and you end up getting charged full price.

      • Like anything Uber, it sounds like a good deal until you read the fine print

It's sad when $8/$12 doesn't cover a service fee and delivery fee in some cases.

Not worth it, Ubereats is practically gambling at this point with how rarely it actually arrives in good condition (if at all)

  • +2

Promo is misleading. The reality is that it only applies to very small number of selected restaurants.

  • I made the mistake of getting a $10 Uber eats gift card with the $30 bundle promotion the other week
Ubereats doesn’t let you use your Uber cash with any promos

does anyone know how to use your Uber cash and still get a discount somehow ?
