FIFA 22 - Game play?

Hello everyone,

I want to hear your thoughts on the game?

Me personally, i found this game is the worst game EA Sport ever created. The game play it self is broken "Some call it scripted".

Some of the issues I am facing,

1) Rarely the computer get offside as always there is someone from my team will cover the defence line up.
2) The position of the players is ridiculous, the opponent will be in front of my goal and my defenders are standing doing nothing. No press or anything.
3) Some of the ref decisions which contribute to the game itself to make the PC win.
4) Full back always open or joining the attack even though you ask them not to.
5) Defenders always all over the place and never in one line
6) Midfielders never goes back to support defenders even if you edit the player role to go back and support
7) The most one that drive me crazy is when you see the AI player have more control on the ball and movement VS my player when they slip half the time and lost control over the ball.
8) My players don't move/press when they don't have the ball. Unlike the AI where they all over the place
9) The worst of all, the AI players always in control of the ball, like they won't take the extra step unlike my player takes them 2 second to adjust back to normal position.

Let me hear your thoughts.

Mate, this is what happens when you have a greedy corporation rushing to release a new edition every year..
To compensate for the lack of any technical upgrades, they alter their gameplay drastically just so FIFA 22 ‘seems’ visibly different to FIFA 21 when it really isn’t.

Its only going to get worse and profit beats quality everytime.

      • I doubt it Pharkurnell because a new game coming out promises to destroy EA Fifa and PES which is UFL. Let's hope it will be better or at least add some pressure on EA Sport to fix the game

Agree Gervais, in fact i enjoyed Fifa 20 more than 21 and 22….

      • Hmm, which one would you say is your favourite Fifa edition of them all ?

  • +1

yea most of those sports games from EA suck
i think the madden 22 one had a house spawn in the middle of the field
so your teams would run then disappear into a house

for games like that i recommend paying the origin monthly subscription JUST FOR that month, trying it out
and if you want to buy it, that subscription knocks a portion of the games full price, which is much better than eating the entire cost of it

It's not just EA. 2K does this a lot with their NBA series. Gameplay has been practically the same with the same issues for at least 5 years. At this point, buying the new game year to year is for the updated rosters.

    • I saw that house hahahaha it was pretty funny.

Mate, if you check the video i uploaded on youtube and other videos. Many glitches with the game play. The issue that piss me off, EA DONT CARE

  • What console are you playing it on?

My son has it on the Switch and there have been no updates other than the players for the past few years, luckily this is the first Fifa I have owned (my son has owned :)) in quite a while.

edit - assume from what you wrote it's on PC.

    • PS5 but its the same on other platforms.

  • Fifa is notorious for having terrible gameplay, especially during promo's.

It sucks for the football fans because we will never have a decent game for our sport.

    • Its sad, because it used to be much better. Prior to Fifa 2019 it was more fun. Now you get a player with acceleration and Sprint speed level 42 beat a player with 98 level.

  • FIFA has been getting worse since 2018 imo

    but i keep coming back.

Same here, can't wait to see if UFL will deliver what they promised!

  • Merged from Fifa 22 - Scripted

How EA SPORTS FIFA is not ashamed of this…. they so pathetic.

89th min and I am winning 2-1, so they need to do something so they can draw. Sinply script the game and I would challenge EA sport to comment on this

It's called artificial difficulty, or Dynamic Difficulty. It's existed since the very early days of video gaming.

Ever played Mario Kart N64 and wonder how the AI just magically zips past you on the racetrack, even though you had like a 20 second lead? That's the game deciding you got too good and you need a lesson on humility.

Or in EA's case, they just want you to experience some pain so that you feel compelled to buy some DLC's to make the game easier.

        Good ole rubber banding

        forza has entered the chat

        • Daytona at the arcades was like this lol

      • Not really, old Fifa never had that before. If it's existed all the time, why doesn't work during the game? Why does it work only in certain occasions?

EA was granted a patent for the technology last year. It was implemented in this year's title. Here's an image from the patent files

          What is DDA?

If a player is having difficulty scoring goals in a game like FIFA, dynamic difficulty adjustment technology will make the game slightly easier. Similarly, if a player is finding it a little too easy, the AI may increase difficulty.

DDA utilises the cloud and AI technology to adjust the difficulty of games like FIFA 21 and Madden 21 based on interaction and input from the gamers themselves.

EA was on the receiving end of a class-action lawsuit related to the technology earlier this year. Three players accused the developer of using the dynamic difficulty adjustment technology across FIFA, Madden NFL and NHL.

All three games have modes linked to microtransactions, which enable players to spend actual money on in-game items. The lawsuit alleged that EA could utilise DDA to make the game more difficult, encouraging players to spend real money.

The lawsuit was eventually dropped by the claimants after EA explained how they utilises the technology, and offered access to the development process behind the technology.

EA has said they will not use the technology in conjunction with micro-transactions to encourage player spending.

          • @scrimshaw: This is great, thanks Scrimshaw. Never knew that. However; in doing that EA is actually pushing many fans away as the game is not enjoyable like before

(Profanity) me, you actually wasted a decent amount of your life filming and posting this trash about the result of a video game

    • -1

      Lol gitgud

    • you were complaining about FIFA 22 4 months ago.
Hence EA's dynamic difficulty is working, has you engaged and continuing to play.

      • I was complaining less than 4 months ago.

Well, no other soccer game available to play.

    • If you roll around on the floor screaming and acting for a bit mebbee the ref will give EA a red card ? 🤷

    • How EA SPORTS FIFA is not ashamed of this…. they so pathetic.

Dont worry, there wont be a FIFA23 so you just saved yourself some money this year.

    • For mine, that's quite a poor defensive structure you have there. The bus should have been parked.

      • lol trust me, no matter what you do they always find a way to break it

    • This wouldn’t have happened in real life …

      • That’s some 1000iq stuff there from you mate gg

        • More like 999iq

    • Whats your username. Add me.

Contender for most stupid (and pointless) post I've seen on OZB

    • -1

I'm amazed at the effort you went to to post something so useless

    • +2

Some of the negatives comment here shows some people have nothing better to do. If me videoing the game and posting it sound useless to you, then there is no need to comment and show you sarcasm. Just keep your mouth shut and respect other people interests.
