Damn, there goes my chance to sell it to scotty

EDIT: Err wait, whois info says the domain was created 3hrs ago. WHICH ONE OF YOU DID IT?

    • Hehe. First year of. IN has always been heavily discounted and subsequent years are usually more expensive than .com/.net domains. I have indeed looked at getting that domain last year, but can't bring myself to the same game as the squatters.

      • It's a bit ridiculous really.. My last employer wanted to buy all variants of their name, including some common misspellings. In the end we had over 2 dozen domains, all for the one main one..

And thanks to analytics, we could tell how much value they had - ZERO. We got more hits from Google redirecting people who misspelled it completely wrong! Total waste of money.

not really because you don't knwo the damage it would cost you if some other idiot takes a common mis spelling and puts stuff about your company that you would rather not see.

Also you are protected from a scam of catchall email bounces to that domain instead of yours…

  • Do we need to have a connection to India to get one?

    • Nope, anyone can register one.

  • You can forget about selling anything that is associated with India after the companies outsourcing their call centres there.
