A very cheap pick up on whole Nelson cones.
Recently I brewed a single hop Hazy Pale Ale using these cones and man it was delicious.
They are 2019 Nelson Whole Cones vacuum packed and kept in the refrigerator.

Thanks OP, grabbed these to chuck in some home made kombucha.
mind sharing your recipe?
Standard Kombuca recipe (black tea, sugar, water, starter liquid) for first ferment.
Second ferment I've been looking for ideas outside of the usual fruit juice. Found hops as an idea from these guys
Thanks!
I get "custom shipping quote: free" at checkout. Is something amiss there?
Hi Herbo,
Some times shipping doesn't get calculated very well and often incorrectly charges. Specially when ordering various weights/Categories of products.
It's an option to receive a personalised quote.
Checkout the shipping page for more info
Defaulted to "custom shipping quote: free" for me as well.
Hi Emdawg,
Feel free to reach out via socials or contact us page to see why your getting a default of custom Shipping.
It might be the courier.
Cheers
Same here
next step will give shipping options (at least it did for me)
How are these used as opposed to pellets?
You'd use these the same as pellets. The main difference is these won't break down like pellets and will instead stay intact as flowers, so they can potentially clog things up. You may need to filter these out of your lquid if you're transferring/pumping through narrow hoses/openings.
Thanks Chris - any change in concentration, or is it a 1:1 type scenario?
Good question. I had to do some googling. They say you'd use them about 1:1, although they also say pellets have better utilisation, so if trying to be precise go for 1g (pellets): 1.15g cones.
Another thing to add is they are sponge like and will suck up liquid (unlike pellets).
if you are dry hopping with these, best to put them in a hop bag and put a sanitised glass marble or stainless steel washer/nut to weigh it down in the beer.
if you kettle hop with them watch out for them clogging the outlet tap. I used to just whizz them up in a blender for a sec if kettle hopping to avoid that happening, or chop them up with a chef knife
Timely post, given that the beer tax is going up again today
Hop to it…
