Unfortunately it looks like there is a 32c/min charge for Call Forwarding though, so you're not going to get away from needing some credit on the sim every now and again.
Otherwise, looks like a pretty good deal though, especially if you don't get a lot of calls :-)

You are aware when you DIVERT a call, it is classed as a OUTBOUND call from the sim it is diverted from right?…….nope, I thought it just DIVERTED the call and didn’t route through my phone plan and charge me

Well then, just pick a plan and away you go. Aldi has some cheap yearly options if you only need to receive SMS.
Same question but need it to work overseas. So far amaysim pay as you go 365 days for $10 is the best I found.
Crazytel do $5/pm virtual mobile number that can route calls and sms to wherever you want.
