Updated mate, cheers!
Also if you have a closing store around you. You can even get it cheaper because they have everything discounted.
Just want to tell u guys, this charger is the best charger ever. It doesn't work on time charging, instead it works out the change in voltage when battery is full.
Is this the same with all Sanyo Eneloop chargers, or just the USB one? Also, does anyone know if this charger works with say the iPhone AC to USB Adapter.
I have this charger too, it works great and doesn't heat up the cells too much. You can use it with the iphone or htc AC to USB adapter.
No, the 4 Battery Timed Charger is a piece of shyte that cooks the cells well past capacity.
I have both the USB and the 4 Battery charger and I only stick to the USB one as it actually stops when the batteries are full.
Yeah, I also wanted to confirm if this is a respectable charger for the Eneloops? I know people are picky with them.
Apparently the USB charger (MDU01) does indeed check voltage changes. http://www.eneloop.info/products/chargers.html
Nice, thank you. Also Googled up this: http://www.stefanv.com/electronics/sanyo_usb_charger.html Looks like a thumbs up?
Thankyou, have been waiting for a good deal these with charger! The deal the previous week for 8 batteries was too much for my requirements.
Good Find OP, however I am after the 4X AA Eneloop Batteries with Standard Charger
Can anybody advise where is the best deal ATM?
DSE got them listed for $29.99
I'd steer clear of the eneloop 4 batt charger. It only runs fix time (which fries batteries, which is criminal in this day and age) and you must charge in pairs, or presumably it doubles the current and double-bakes your poor eneloop.
The MQR06 is a smart charger. Thats the one you want.
I got it and works quite well. It has 4 leds can quick charge and cuts off delta voltage.
does the MQR06 do trickle charge, to top up after the main charge? it looks like this USB one doesn't.
ordered one of these USB ones anyway!
I believe not, but I'm not really sure.
randomly needed one of these today for a flat AAA. Also picked one of these up earlier in store for $12.50 +1 from me!
so it works for AAA as well
yep.
Thanks. Just bought it
Looks like my charger has already crapped out.. Giving me a fast blink on charging anything, even a battery is is supposed to have charged earlier. fast blink every 0.5sec is supposed to be "abnormal battery"
Probably won't be able to swap it out now that its been ozbargained! :(
Nice one, now just need a good deal on a 4x or 8x pack!
Hobby King now seem to have a NSW warehouse, so $8.99 shipping for up to 2kg of batteries i.e. Dozens of batteries for one low shipping charge.
AA

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idp…Do they have a decent (and cheap) 4 or 8 cell charger to go with those AAs?
How cheap?
cheapest that isnt just a timed charger.
great. god the 8 pack . this would be great to charge. will it work with 1500 eneloops ?
any AAA enelopps for sale ?
My friend bought one from the store itself. For those that don't want to order online.
yeah, need some AAAs
Hmm, looks like these are the older 1000-cycle batteries… should that make a difference, or am I just being picky for no reason?
the batteries are the older ones, and won't be as good, but the charger will still work fine.
Noticed that, compared to the 1500 cycle ones I guess they may not last as long. It's all explained here. I already ordered this set, any Eneloop batteries are better than regular NiMH.
Even if you fully discharge/charge them every 2 days, that's still around 5.5 years of use at 1000 cycles. =)

2005-2008 Vintage?
Whats the average charge time for the batteries? Can this be used to charge single batteries or do they have to be charged in pairs?
Anbody know if you can buy single Eneloop batteries? Purchased a 4 pack of AAA batteries and am now stuck with 1 battery I can't use unless I can find another single.
See here for charging times and other info.
http://us.sanyo.com/dynamic/product/Downloads/USB_Instructio…Single battery charges in half time, according to DSE site.
Battery Charge Time
AA: 1pc - 140 minutes, 2pc - 280 minutes.
AAA: 1pc - 60 minutes, 2pc - 120 minutes.
Thanks for posting this. Picked one up in shop. Perfect timing right before my trip overseas!!
Would this charger that comes with the old 1000s work with the newer 1500s?
Edit - seems they will.
If only this came with AAA's instead…drats.
I'm sure these will go well with my second xbox controller (cheaper than a play and charge kit :P)
Too good… Eneloops, awesome USB charger and Maha Powerex I think I have all my charging needs covered. I cannot believe I believed all the other chargers out there. Since reading up about chargers and batteries I can't believe the torture I placed my batteries through with those timer based chargers and wondered why my batteries came out of them hot!!!
Do USB chargers take longer to charge than AC?
yes, not necessarily a bad thing though, faster charging reduces the batteries life.
Compared to the Brick-a-Battery standard charger made by Sanyo (the 4-slot one), it's actually able to put out more milliamps (450mA Vs 250mA) for two AA's and most importantly it stops charging when the batteries are full and the LED indicator signals this (for this reason alone you should never touch the standard charger).
Sanyo themselves only state in the official documentation a rough estimate for charging four AA's (10 hours) in the standard charger, while the official USB charger manual states 4.6 hours for two AA's or 2 hours for two AAA's.
So if you extrapolate that information for four AA's, it does seem the USB charger would be a tad faster on paper, but in reality I suspect it would be as close as makes no difference. From my experience (having used both), you will never be draining your Eneloops to 0% capacity, usually finicky devices like PC/Gaming/Home Theatre peripherals, kid's toys, electric razors, etc will stop functioning when the voltage drops below a certain minimum, even though the batteries are not completely flat.
I typically find myself waiting for 3 hours or so to top up depleted cells in the USB charger.
thank you! picked up two today :)
I called up my local store and they were $17.60. So I bought one online
My store at Baulkham Hills NSW had them in stock at the $12.49 price. Picked one up today.
How come this post says expired?
Dick smith still have it in stock…
Sold Out online when I checked earlier today, but dropped into Mt Druitt store while passing by and picked up two for $12.49 each, with a few left on the shelf.
I ordered mine and its in transit(at Sydney).
I live in Melbourne.
Would I get it tomorrow or the next day or the next day after or…?
My one came through AAE.
Popped my drained rechargeables from my camera and swapped Eneloops in. USB charger works a treat with my phone charger.
I got mine also.
Two new Eneloops!
Price on title please.
