65 or 75 inch Tv

What’s everyone’s thoughts on tv size, looking at either 65 or 75 inch of Samsung the frame tv. Sitting around 3m from tv, they just look so big in store!

We also have 2 little ones who watch tv from floor would it be too much for them?
We stream most tv and then foxtel for afl.

Go for the 75 or go safe with 65??

Go all in and get an 85 inch

I'm having the same debate now. I am 4.2 metres and was going to buy a 65 inch but now have changed to 75 inch. I think bigger is always better and you adjust very quickly to the bigger set.

It looks huge but after 1 week, it will be normal. I experienced this with a 55 inch TV 😂

    • Pretty much this. Always go for bigger.

    • I suggest to go for the 75 inch. I am 4.6 meters from the TV and decided to go the 85”. (Got a great OZB deal) Very glad I did and 75” would also of been OK, but I think 65 you will regret in the future. I stepped up from a 55”.

With that said price and quality need to be factored in. I went for the 85” QLED Q60 from Samsung. (Lower end of the QLED) If you are a hard core gamer or cricket fan you may want to step up to a better screen with a higher refresh rate, but then prices go up.

I am also sure the amazing contrast/blacks on a 65” OLED would impress just as much as a 75” QLED. So I think picture quality can also be traded for size.

  • If you are concerned get a tv box from the store of the tv size you want then cut out the shape and place in the tv area.

End of the day just depends how big a tv you want. Neither 75 or 65 is "too big" or "too small" for 3 m

    100" is best.

My wife says that bigger is not always better. Probably just to make me feel good.

Having said that, go the 75".

    • They all say that, but once they experience the few extra inches they get used to it. Just need to ensure it is not too big for the space you have to put it in.

  • Get a bunch of newspaper and stick it to the wall to match the size you’re after. It should give an indication of whether it’s the right size or not

That TV looks small in your photo. Go 75 inch.

    • That’s a 60 inch I have currently

  • Friend got an 85” tv, and FTA was on in the background, man the picture was so bad. Looked like I had forgotten my glasses

    • Most probably an SD channel - that should be untuned on install.

FTA is bad in general, but the SD channels do look worse on the bigger TVs. You learn quickly that the HD channels are your friend.

For example tennis on Ch9 looks bad, but the HD Ch90 on an 85” looks great.

Let’s face it most of the watching would be streaming nowadays and it looks great on the large TVs. With my 85” I am back to having movie nights with my kids.
