Cracked iPhone 4 Screen

  Take it to an apple store,

  The glass of the iPhone 4 is fused with the display and if either is broken, both need to be replaced, better off just getting a new phone from apple.

  Mine was completely shattered and the touchscreen broke, made a genius bar appointment and they replaced it with a brand new iPhone 4, even though they don't sell my model anymore (32gb) they have extra stock for replacements.

  If its still in warranty apple will replace it for free, if it's not, it will cost $140 (or free If your smile and be polite to there staff) for a brand new replacement. (apple will replace entire phone not just glass/screen)

  Ps apple will do this for Amy problems with the phone (water damage ect)

    Why would they replace a screen for free if it was dropped and broken even if the phone was under warranty?

      Because this is Apple, Apple (arguably) have the best customer service in the tech industry. They replace it for an absolute maximum $140, and you can get it replaced for free if your lucky.

      This commitment to their product and willingness to replace sets them, apart from say samsung. This is why people love Apple and why there stores are always packed with people.

    What if u bought the iPhone 2nd hand and have no proof of purchase or ownership?

      When I had mine replaced, I had my reciept with me and they never even asked to see it, they just laughed at how utterly destroyed the screen was and replaced the phone.

      They may ask you to see the receipt, don't know what to say if you don't have proof of purchase but if you just be honest about it if they ask you, they sould probably look after you.

      Try and get proof of purchase and/or ownership next time, makes life a hell of a lot easier tbh,

      And don't steal iPhones

        Thanks for the info… Always thought it would be the most expensive option to go back to Apple. Why do ppl bother to take it to a 3rd party repairer if that's the case?

        I would never steal any phone. Had it happen to me and was not a pleasant experience…

  Apple will probably charge you an out of warranty replacement ($229) and give you another phone.
  Most repair shops should be able to do it starting from $70.
  Just google "iphone screen replacement melbourne". Replace Melbourne with city of your choice. Also check out gumtree as quiet a lot of people do it for you and may charge a bit less.
