Got an email today, never tried Uni before, but saw this promotion is the lowest price ever! Looks like it is time to give this a go. As you may know from my previous posts, I love cheap crab and this seems like one of the cheapest ways to get Frozen Snow Leg crab clusters, which are usually $60/kg at the Fish Market. I also love Prawns, but nowadays they have gotten to expensive at $30/kg+ and these are good value and size. They are frozen, but all prawns are flash frozen on the prawning ship anyway.

"Sea urchin roe tastes like the sea with a deliciously sweet and creamy flavour. The texture is soft and juicy. This highly exquisite seafood comes from native Australian long-spined sea urchins that are carefully hand-picked for size and quality before being properly cleaned. processed and packaged.

Because it is high in protein, fibre, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, calcium, and iodine, sea urchin roes are worth a try! The addition of this seafood to any platter adds a savoury taste that makes any meal completely mouth-watering. Remember to add some of this sashimi seafood delicacy to your next banquet."

"Snow crab is a deepwater crab found in the waters of South America's southernmost regions. Our snow crabs are sourced from Chile and packed under Chile's best-known brand in the seafood industry. The shell of the Chilean snow crab is orange to brown with a somewhat hairy surface. The flesh is white with an orange membrane and is hand-picked. The flavour is light, briny, and juicy, and the texture is smooth.

Snow Crab is high in protein, which is essential for muscle growth and maintenance. It's also packed with omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12, and selenium. These nutrients are essential for boosting overall health and preventing a number of chronic diseases. For ideas on how to cook crabs see our Crab Recipes."

  • Delivery is $12.50 and it appears to be Sydney metro only!

    • Thanks I've added that to the top of the description. The email subscription $10 coupon will offset shipping to $2.50, but the savings are significant from ordering from Fishme.

      • W8 the subscription $10 coupon could not be used together with the UNI10 code? So it seems I had give them subscription for free…. this uni10 is better

Edit: it seems UNI10 can only be applied to non discounted items? Then it’s of way less value and not as good as subscription coupon

    What does this taste like?

    • +1

I paid medium and a high premium priced version and both were salty, sweet with a bit of strange bitterness. I didn't like it because the bitterness took over and it wasn't pleasant

Apparently good ones are not meant to be bitter at all

Taste good only if very very fresh

      • This is very important. Taste ranges from a saline ocean like cream cheese, to farts.

        • Mmm farts.

      Salty, smooth, and tasty.

Kinda like fish roe that’s been squished into a paste like form.

      Delicious!
