Xiaomi 34 Inch Ultrawide Monitor Stuck at 60hz

Recently got the ozbargain popular Mi Monitor and I have no idea how to get it to display 144hz. Is the problem that I have it to a hub (https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08NSZ2NQS/) where I use its display port and not natively (which my laptop does not have) or do I have a laptop that cannot support it, I have a HP ProBook x360 435 G8 Notebook which I plan to upgrade around the end of the year to a G14. Recommendations please :)

Cheers

  • Haven't read all the info on the Amazon page, but it appears to only operate to 60Hz. Try connect laptop straight to monitor and see if that helps.

I have the same monitor and have no issue getting higher Hz

    • i checked and I swear one of the things said it does support it. I really cant find a hub that can support it otherwise

        Ports: 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate (1 charging); 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4); 1 headphone/microphone combo; 1 HDMI 1.4b; 1 AC power

        Does DisplayPort support 144Hz?
The simple answer is yes, and at multiple resolutions. Even DisplayPort 1.0 and 1.1 were capable of supporting 144Hz at 1080p resolution when using the first generation high bit rate (HBR) mode. Later DisplayPort connections are even more versatile.

DisplayPort 1.2 can output 1080p and 1440p resolutions at 144Hz, while DisplayPort 1.3 and 1.4 increased bandwidth to manage up to 240Hz at those same resolutions and up to 120Hz at 4K. It can't quite handle 144Hz at that resolution, at least without making sacrifices in chroma subsampling (typically 4:2:2) or using display stream compression (DSC).

        So can't do 4K 144hz

Likely the graphics couldn't push that sorta res either

  • Both? If you look at the photo of the ports on your hub on that Amazon link it shows you the max FPS each port will do at 4k. At 2k you might get higher, but unlikely all the way up to 144hz
