The design is subjective like white iMac bezels or PS5 in general, however for those with access to Edu & Gov Portals this would be the cheapest HDMI 2.1 enabled 55" TV currently available.
The Aus Hisense U7G is watered down compared to the US model and only supports some 2.1 functionality like VRR, ALLM but is stuck at 60Hz over HDMI 2.0.
Suits people who like the design or those who are looking for true HDMI 2.1 support. At this price point in terms of picture quality, there are similarly priced QLED models with full array local dimming (e.g. TCL 55" C727 at $965 delivered atm) that would deliver a better viewing experience as The Serif is only edge-lit.
I bought one to turn the packaging into a cat house, might also use the TV in the bedroom idk haven't thought that far.
