  • I can't speak to that specific model of TV, but all my experiences of recent TVs is that they favor being thin over sound quality. Some are worse than others, but none of the recent ones I have seen are good.

I'd try getting the soundbar to work. Doesn't it have any settings you can adjust to change the volume or channels so the voices are louder?

You need more apostrophes. it's, that's, can't, I'm. These are called contractions.

If you are unsure if you need an apostrophe, try and substitute the full form. It's worse=it is worse. The full form in this case can be substituted. If it can't substitute, then you don't need an apostrophe. Eg, its colour is red.

Go to Myer or Good Guys (quieter than JB) and listen to a display if possible.

  • Bit the bullet and invested on a Sonos Arc + surround set up. Now I really enjoy the TV

    • your c1 wall mounted? or the Sonos sits infront?

I am worried about the low stand and the soundbar encroaching on panel.

        Both are wall mounted

Yeah, I guess in this situation i could possibly get a couple of tower speakers and a sub to sit by.

          Thanks for the quick reply

  • My first one came with both speakers blown. Sounded like it was playing under water. Got a replacement and the speakers sound quite good for a TV.

Might be worth playing with the equaliser and shifting the sound from left to right. See if one side is sounding better than the other

  • Really happy with my CX… sounds like a dodgy unit

Why on earth are you using TV speakers in the first place? You bought an OLED for the superior visual image, upgrade your audio experience too.

Cheap soundbars without a proper centre channel will have speech playback issues. Get a decent surround setup.

  • The speakers are OK, certainly better than cheap TV speakers.

  • I use a Beam Gen 2 but in all honesty my C1 speakers sound pretty great. Like others have mentioned, perhaps go to a big box store and ask to hear what the display C1 sounds like. I reckon there's something wrong with yours.

  • Have you tried Cinema mode in the settings?

  • I have the 55" C1 and have to agree the built-in speakers are a little hollow and lacking treble and bass. They are a relative downgrade to the ~15yo Samsung plasma I replaced. As some commenters above have noted, most manufacturers are optimising for thinness now over other important factors.

This hasn't been an issue for me, as I have an amp and bookshelf speakers hooked up to the C1 via HDMI-ARC.

  • With your sound bar, some have a feature to make voices easier to hear. Have a look in the settings.
