I'm almost certain that I would enjoy it. It's just that I don't really have that much time to play games these days and I have literally thousands of games to play over all of the various platforms. It'd probably just sit there like every other game I've paid for and not played. I have the first one but only the base. If I get this should I play that one first? Should I be getting the DLC or a more complete version of the first one?

playing pillars1 will help understand the world of pillars2
but I don't think it was essential. Pillars2 is quite standalone imho playing it

bought it at a steam sale and a couple of playthroughs with different playstyles

Thanks for your feedback. Looks like one of those games that can take a long time to play. I'll stew over it for a little bit more and probably end up buying it and then see it in next month's humble bundle. Isn't that how these things work?

Edit: Hey, just realised Epic gave away the definitive edition of the first one so I can go and play that one first, grab this and play it after.
