Without recharge, how long will Woolworths mobile keep my number for?

Hi guys,
I am currently overseas and cannot get international reception with Woolworths mobile prepay.
I know it used to be 6 months without recharge before you lose your number when they were using Optus network, but now with Telstra, I am not so sure and cannot find any answers to it.

The only document I can find online is this
https://mobile.woolworths.com.au/content/dam/Woolworths/Mobiā€¦

Section 2.6 says (iv) if Your Account is not reactivated within six months from the date of suspension, Woolworths may place
Your Account in a Deactivated State.
(c) Woolworths may disconnect Your Account permanently if it enters a Deactivated State, in which case the
mobile number will be quarantined.

I am not sure if that means I can go without recharge for 6 months?
I have been trying to recharge the phone with 3 different credit cards, using different browsers on my phone & computer + via app, turned off the proxy etc and it all failed. That's why I am here hoping someone knows the answer to this.

Cheers.

  • 180 days, according to a FAQ on their web site.

  • +2

First 90 days without an active recharge: can receive calls and texts but cannot place/send them
Next 90 days: Cannot receive/place calls and texts, but you can still recharge
After 180 days: The service is automatically terminated

The fact that you're overseas is likely causing the payment system to block the transaction. As an alternative, you could ask a friend/family member residing in Australia to recharge the number for you.

    • Would using VPN help?

      • VPN will more than likely cause the payment attempt to be blocked again.
