Exactly.
But there is an expansion memory port.
Had issues with randomly non responsive player, that froze and then would not power on.
Found accidentally that pressing Netflix button for a few seconds solved it.
Although in the last year, no issues whatsoever and with the update of firmware, it solved the incorrect message pop up, out of memory. ( Player still worked well).
I have both, I use the pro in the media room and it's never had an issue. I use Gamestream, watch 4k movies etc. The tube I use in my room and only just recently got it. It too works perfectly but I've only watched TV on it. Maybe newer updates have fixed the issues?
Tube version. Avoid (i have both).
Also latest android update on it has caused all sorts of *&^! for a lot of folks.
Agree with everything, especially the update. Thought I'd bricked it at first, sorta started working but had to apply for the Hotfix patch to solve a few major issues.
So glad i haven't installed it on my 3 yet!!
Zero issues with the tube here on latest update. I have both as well.
What level of widevine key do these have?
I have two Shield Pros and the latest Google TV 11 update has broken FoxtelGo for me and it was noticeably laggier after the update, either I've gotten used to the slight lag now or it has self resolved? But I don't notice the lag as much anymore.
Post-Update on Android there are lot of background activities such as unpacking packages and running optimisations for about 15 mins. It's normal.
Fair enough.
But yeah, Foxtel, Plex, MX player and a few other of my apps are still not working at all or having major issues.
I would not update any shield device till they resolve this cluster F.
I have an older Nvidia Shield TV (2017) and was looking to upgrade to one of these newer ones for AI Upscaling.
I'm waiting for the Pro model to go on special again, as I missed it out a few weeks ago.
Is there a huge difference between the two, as just a streamer? I don't need to run plex server on it as I have a NAS and other servers running elsewhere.
Cheers
** Also saw this model doesn't do HDR10+
This model don't have enough ram/storage, no usb port either, result being radom crashing, spend extra for the pro model is recommended.
