I use the indoor sensor (which is cheaper) for already 2 years outdoors (undercover) and works fine :-).

    • Same!

you can get an indoor chinese Zigbee sensor for $15. Just mount it where it can't get rained on or make something to shelter it.

    • High-quality weatherproof material (IP54)

But will look into that for indoor use

      • Ive used the Aqara Motion Sensor outdoors (shelter from the rain) no problem for ages.
        [edit]
Much easier to angle and mount it too.

I tried one of those, but didnt give me the distance that i needed

And also wanted native for the hue lights, so if home assistant is down lights still come on

I found Hue motion sensor (indoor one) works better with Hubitat; it comes with illumination sensor too.

I guess it depends to your requirement

      • Did you have issues with the outdoor one

        • Yea, it's too expensive for my wallet :P

And also the colour is rather too obvious on my white wall and my partner might ask me to stay on the couch until it's removed

    • Out of interest, how can you program this to work with hue lights? (anything like IKEA lights where they come up in the Hue app?)
And would it not be able to control a room? Like only 1 light?
