Glendronach 12 for $74.02 is another good one.

Aberlour A'bunadh for $116.99 is not bad. It's also cask strength, so it's effectively 1.5 bottles of "regular strength" whisky.

    • +2

Lovely, bought one of these as I've wanted to try it, also bought the Macallan 12.

      • +1

Aberlour A'bunadh is one of my faves. Enjoy :)

    • Thanks. Just bought one. A very highly rated whiskey.

    • Price of this has been increasing rapidly, wouldn't have considered $117 a deal previously but snagged one today.

      • Agreed. Around $110 used to be regular price, with specials often under $100.

I still think it's good value. $117 at 60% alcohol is equivalent of about $78 at 40%. There isn't anything at about $80 that I like more that I can think of….

Could get a bottle of Nant Bourbon Cask with it for an extra ~$105. Worth $170 or so.

    Thoughts?

    • Looks to be a good deal if you like it/want to try that bottle of Nant. Nant looks to be ~$135 by itself with this discount.
      edit: clarity

    • yea bought one.

    • +1

Depends on if you want to try an Aussie whisky. I’d go the classic laddie, cheaper and 700ml vs 500ml of the Nant. Or the Nikka Coffey grain is really creamy and fruity for a grain whisky if you like the bourbon finish. If you don’t care about bourbon finish, Glendronach and Glennallachie are awesome. If you like Peat try the Oban 14. Yum!

      • Laddie?

        I do like Nikka Coffey

Oban 14 is on my wishlist

Never really heard much about Glendronach and Glennallachie, but will have a read about them

        Thanks for the tips!

        • +1

          probably bruichladdich

          • @boriskk: Yes Bruichladdich. The bottling is called The Classic Laddie, it’s their unpeated whisky as most of their releases are usually peated.

The Ardbeg Corryvreckan is not bad at $132.

    • This is the real deal, Corryvreckan is mind-bendingly good

    • Yes! Just purchased.. so good

Been waiting for a Lagavulin deal for a while. Thanks!

You have good taste OP, all 5 named are great choices

I've got so much scotch after Christmas but these prices are tempting

Lagavulin 16 for $100 is a deal now?

    • +3

Unfortunately yes. And any deal near $100 has and will sell out quickly.
I have missed the past 4 Lagavulin deals on here so I'm glad I grabbed one this time.

    • +4

I remember when you could snag a bottle for around $70 on special… gone are those days. Too many people are onto it now.

      • +1

Also COVID heavily impacting distillery operations. Demand has slowed down wild supply has gone up.

      • +1

Yeah spot on. Probably because it’s so many peoples gateway whisky that opens the floodgates, so is always talked about. Still some bargains to be had with cashback if you’re quick. I got 2 in the last year, $78 and $85 after cashback from bws and first choice.

    Johnnie Walker Green for $67.85.

If you've never tried it, don't let the Johnnie Walker branding deter you. It's surprisingly good, especially for the price.

    • +3

Definitely! Johnny green is fantastic. It’s their only vatted malt whisky so only made from barley. Their other whiskies all have grain component. It’s always fun to throw this one in blind at a tasting and watch the faces when you say its a JW.

    • Yup. JW15 is one of the only core line worth enjoying.

  • Nikka from the Barrel is $74. Did a quick search through ozbargain and apparently that's not a common low price!

    • +1

Good whisky. Price is alright. My local has it for $72 everyday shelf price

  • +1

Lagavulin has dropped to $101.32 after coupon.

  • Laphroaig 10 Year Old at $66.29 is a great price. Have bought a Lagavulin 16, JW Green and now this on this deal. I like peaty whisky - and enjoy all 3 of these. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/284352941403

I got the GlenAllachie 12 delivered for $92.55… it actually arrived the next day! (I'm not ebay Plus). A great whisky at a great price. In my unsolicited opinion, best value for money out of the whiskies on offer. I was also looking at the Glenrothes Makers Cut and the Redbreast Lustau.

    • +1

Lustau is a must get. A very drinkable Irish.

Glenrothes is ok. Good value for the ABV. But I wouldn't buy again.

The new version GA12 you got is very good too.

I have ordered the glenallachie on Thursday as well .. no next day delivery for me but am in Brizvegas. I have heard many good things .. looking forward to it
