I previewed next week's Coles catalogue for QLD North and noticed that Moccona Freeze Dried Instant Coffee 400g special price had gone up. Usually the special price is $16 per 400g jar, now the special price for the same size jar is $18 each.

Ok…. Prices go up and down all the time. But get use to them going UP. Inflation is alive and kicking!
Not surprising given that it has been widely discussed last year that the coffee shortage will last for a while.
Shortage of staff narrative being used to increase prices
Hi,
Thank you for contacting OzB Coffee Price Watch, your call is important to us…
Anyhoo, I share your [concern/outrage/coffee mug].
Have a look at:
$16.20 for Subscribe and Save from Amazon.com.au with "free" delivery on orders over $39.
https://www.amazon.com.au/Moccona-Freeze-Dried-Classic-Coffe…You can also put a Post Code that gives you that warm, comforting feeling that Caffeine used to provide into the Search Criteria @ https://www.lasoo.com.au/search/moccona%20freeze%20dried%204… but is seems that $18.00 is presently the new "Black".
How does Moccona taste compared to normal Nescafe coffee?
Much better!!
I'll have mine white w/2 in my usual mug, Thanks…
(Looks around, taps foot expectantly). lol
I don't consider myself a coffee connosieur (and hence why I drink instant), but I prefer Moccona over the other brands.
I usually drink Moconna too, I ran out and couldn't justify spending $25 on a jar.
Bought some of the Coles Organic Instant coffee ($4 for 100g) because of reviews online. Tastes pretty good if you like Moconna. I'll probably continue buying it - as it's the same price as Moconna was on special ($4/100g).
This https://shop.coles.com.au/a/churchill-centre/product/coles-c… is @ $4 if your Coles has it on shelf.
Anyone remember Riva Coffee?
A coffee shortage is coming, and it could last three years, importers warn - Thu 30 Sep 2021
I've been
hoardingbuying when on special on wondering if the price rise was really going to happen.Just got to the end of a jar and checked my stash - all gone. Whilst I did buy up at one stage the coffee has been slowly been used up. Because there wasn't any price rises I forget to keep buying.
So rushed into Coles and got a couple of jars at the new special price. So much for living like a king on my hoarded stash.
Pam?
Not my heckin moccona!
The Coles MO is to increase prices sometimes very quietly and then decrease them very loudly, with big "Reduced Price" pointing hand signs on them where it says "was $18 in Jan 2022, now reduced by $2 to $16!" Making it seem like they continually reduce prices but really they're just going up and down.
at least they were upfront about it - instead of sneakily reducing volume provided at same price :)
