    Synthetic Leather…

    No RGB, no deal!

knowing what you know about razer would you risk owning their gaming chairs

  • +3

I hate my secret lab. So overrated and overpriced. Wobbly after a few weeks. Would never buy another, not even for half the price

    • +1

Which gaming chair would you recommend?

      • +3

        None, they are all shite
Terrible ergonomics, this racing style is a stolen design for race cars to protect human life in a crash, not long gaming sessions

They basically all come out of the same factory/s in China and cost as low as $100 to make (see the nexus gaming review)

Spending the same amount on an office chair with give an infinitely better solution

        • +1

Office chairs are all just marketing tbh, the best position is the next!

      • +1

Honestly, none. Just a marketing gag to inflate the price. If you are after comfort or ergonomics none of them are great. If you are after light, icons, stitches,.. go by the looks of it

Gaming Chairs are right up there with Gold Plated HDMI cables, as far as consumer trash goes.
Stop posting this junk. Your back can't appreciate the gawdy colours, faux leather and cheeto dust that makes up a gaming chair. Get something made to support you ergonomically instead.

You can’t blame the OP tho, he/she is just posting it as a bargain/savings for other people. It is still up to the buyer to make the end decision

Anyone who is not on their high horse tell me what's wrong with this chair? I've been wanting to get it and this is the best price I've seen.

      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3552974/
Prolonged sitting has been associated with musculoskeletal dysfunction… Chairs which can prevent abnormal strain of the neuromuscular system may aid in preventing musculo-skeletal pain and discomfort. Anecdotally, adjustability of the seat height and the seat pan depth to match the anthropometrics of the user is the most commonly recommended intervention. Gaming chairs are not designed to suit the anthropometrics of long-term sitting.

      https://www.hermanmiller.com/research/categories/white-paper…
Studies of the seated body have shown that the position of the pelvis determines the shape of the spine (Schoberth, 1970), due to the relatively rigid connection between the sacrum (the base of the spine) and the pelvis. In a seated position, the pelvis tends to rotate backward, causing the lumbar spine to flatten or curve outward (Andersson et al., 1979). Providing support that stabilizes the pelvis to prevent backward rotation ensures a natural curve, whereas applying pressure to the lumbar spine does not (Kroemer, 1971; Grandjean, 1980; Zacharkow, 1988). A chair that provides support that nests the sacral-pelvic area as well as a deliberately placed target to engage the ischial tuberosities (sitting bones) creates a pocket that holds the pelvis in its natural position.

A gaming/racing chair does not meet the kinematic coherence model, e.g. kinematic control of human postures.

For example, Herman Miller chairs are designed around published studies of seating behaviors, seated anthropometry, the effect of computing on seated posture, the components of subjective comfort, and methods for pressure mapping.

      • While I appreciate your effort, what you have replied leans towards better sitting habits rather than this chair specifically.

What I'm curious about is if this chair feels comfortable to sit on, has adjustable lumbar support and is within my budget, is there a reason I shouldn't be getting it?

I mean, you could buy a chair from a company that makes plastic peripherals with RGB lights on them or you could buy a chair from a company that focuses on ergonomics and the science behind not having a shit back. Up to you.
Gamers don't have different skeletons to non-gamers.

@whichwhatwho: As someone who bought a second hand Herman Miller on Saturday. I can vote that they know what they're are doing!

Those gaming chairs are pretty bad.

@whichwhatwho: I switched from secretlab omega to a herman millar sayl for $700.
Even their entry level Sayl is an upgrade over these racing chairs. Best decision iv ever made for my back.
In due time i will upgrade to an Aeron or Embody due to the the positive experience of the Sayl.

They did say "Gaming chairs are not designed to suit the anthropometrics of long-term sitting.", and this chair is a gaming chair, therefore it won't be suited to long-term sitting. There's your answer for this chair specifically.

      • +1

Just read anthropometry as aromatherapy and just about spat my coffee as I was with you up until I misread.
