Very low price on this popular eScooter from Xiaomi when paying with eBay Plus. Local stock from Gearbite with warranty. They also have the Global Version on sale for $623.22, though I'm not sure if there are any differences besides packaging.

Edit: Global Version still in stock.

  • Anyone in Vic experienced issues using these? I think technically they're not legal (250 W)?

    • in VIC. used these for years. passed many police. it's fine, there's a tonne of people riding. just be sensible, ride on bike paths and not footpaths.

the brakes are NOT amazing. I have no idea why there isnt a hydraulic disc brake version. cable disc brakes are hot garbage.

      • +1

Yeh I thought so too… these are small enough to not appear like they will be illegal. I think technically the max allowed is 200W…but yeh I've seen heaps around in the CBD and surrounding suburbs with no issues (inc. with police around). I guess if the police were having a bad day you can't really complain if you get a fine.

      • Good breaks are essential!

      • You can get kits to convert cable motorcycle clutches to hydraulic, you could probably fit one onto the brakes of this. You still have a short cable tail at the end but it's only a few cm.

      • ride on bike paths

Get a bell and use it like a bike

        • Bell is built into the scooter

  • OOS

Illegal in VIC and NSW aka Nanny States

  • Bugger missed out on aus so had to go global

  • Missed out. Miserable customer experience with eBay as usual…

  • +1

Is there a gearbite rep on here? Would be great if some backorder stock could be added for the AU model.

  • +1

Never consider this brand, there is a high chance of failure within a short period of time after the warranty expires.

    • +1

Made by Segway Ninebot and Xiaomi are a major financial backer. So I'd consider them to be quite reliable.

The only real thing to be cautious of is a puncture. That's why I'm using green slime.

      • -1

What you said is exactly the problem, the quality of Xiaomi's digital products is the lowest among similar products in mainland China. Xiaomi products other than mobile phones and sockets are almost 3-5 times more likely to have quality problems after the warranty expires than similar products. For this, you can check the product reviews of Xiaomi products on e-commerce websites and complaint websites in mainland China. Basically, Xiaomi is synonymous with high performance parameters + low price + low quality.

        • The thing is though Segway is a separate company to Xiaomi. But then this is built to Xiaomi specifications so yeah probably cheaper.

        • It depends. I have Mi induction rice cooker, electronic bike, power bank, screen light bar etc. All built very solid and long-lasting.

  • Gearbite rep would be good. Tried buying aus version said it didn't work so purchased global and checked bank account and been charged for both.

  • This or the Segway Ninebot Max G30 Global Edition

    • Segway if you got the money, this if you just wanna dip your toe in the water for a first scooter.

      • Ok thanks

  • what is the deal global vs normal(chinese?) version? No idea what i bought here

    • Hopefully @Gearbite can shed some light. I suspect it might be relating to firmware. I know the EU models (AU/NZ included) have the cruise control removed from the firmware. You can however add custom firmware quite easily to restore that.

      • ok hope so…as long as it's english menu and app/language and i can still update the firmware later i'm good, thanks

        • All English through the Xiaomi Home app.

  • If I get one of these and pretend to kick off as if it was a regular scooter, would the cops notice?

    • +1

Good question. Can the cops get you if you ride it like a regular scooter?

      • +1

I think the laws in VIC relate to the capability of the scooter (i.e. max speed), not how fast you happen to be riding. I think they could ping you if they wanted to.

  • +1

Just as a note, not sure if it's possible but try to request gearbite ship through couriers please or someone else instead of Aramex. A few of us paid express on the last deal and got ours shipped through Aramex who take about a month to deliver, others got shipped through couriers please and received within a week

    • Pretty Sure CP and Aramex are the same company.

      • I think fastway/aramex are the same company

        • +1

Yep. Fastways became Aramex and CouriersPlease is owned by Singapore Post.

          • @Clear: Yeah, don't get me wrong I haven't had great experience with either, but man Aramex is by far the worst of the lot

Where I live in TAS my Pro 2 eScooter is legal both on footpaths and the road!

Stop making us NSW people jealous hahaha :(

  • Any recommendations for good helmets to wear when riding one of these?

  • ive had two of the original Xiaomi m365 since 2018 and they are still going strong, had one flat tyre being the only issue. Decided to upgrade one of them to the Pro 2 as they have been awesome value for money.

    • You're lucky. I've had a flat within a week of owning one.

      • Hitting the curb too hard or a nail/screw?

        • I'm not sure there's no visible puncture. It won't hold air for very long so I'm going to try some green slime to see if I can avoid replacement.

          • @Clear: Dang. I presume you cannot submerge the wheel in water to find the leak because of all the electrics?

            • @Master Bates: I'd have to remove the rear wheel to do that so I may as well replace.

  • I was about to take the plunge until https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1p_zCN0hqVo explained that you can't ride this in the rain. Is this for real? Can't handle rain? What's the point!?

    • +1

Pro 2 is certainly a lot more waterproof than the M365. The motor compartment in the front wheel isn't completely sealed so it's not waterproof. Typically you don't want to go in puddles that are high enough to reach the motor covers.

Another area is where the wires go into the frame. They do have rubber coverings but I'd be using silicone sealant to cover those and any other holes.

I don't think rain is too much of a major issue. In the M365 the dashboard wasn't sealed so you'd use a silicone cover to protect it.

      • so that silicon cover is the right one for this scooter in the deal?

        • Yep it's the exact one I bought. Ordered on 27th December and arrived 3 days ago.

Also some general advice for those who have purchased.

Check your tyre pressure frequently as once they go flat it'll puncture more easily. What you can do to fix a puncture, or prevent a puncture is empty the tyre, add 2oz (60ml) of slime tyre sealant, refill with air and give it a good spin.

The Xiaomi Portable Air Pump is a good option for checking the tyre pressure. Get a bag for your scooter like this and put both inside just in case ;)

    Recommend tyre pressure:

    • At a load of 50-70kg: the front wheel is 35-40psi, the rear wheel is 40-50psi.
    • At a load of 70-90kg: the front wheel is 40-45psi, the rear wheel is 45-55psi.
    • At a load of 90-100kg: the front wheel is 45-50psi, the rear wheel is 50-60psi.
    • At a load of more than 100 kg: it is recommended to pump up to 50-55psi front and 60-65psi rear, but careful driving is recommended. The risk of puncture increases with weight gain.

In terms of accessories, you'll want these if the scooter develops a squeal where it folds down, this silicone cover for the dashboard, these silicone covers for the stand/handbrake and a hook below the handlebars for bags to name a few.

    • Do you happen to know a good cheap helmet and carry bag for this?

Thank you so much in advance!

      • +1

I didn't cheap out on my helmet one bit. I got the $300 Bell Super 3R with a removable chin guard for about $200 in an eBay sale. Head protection is important.

There are smart helmets from Livall that have brake lights at the back and even indicators for safety. In China they're sold much cheaper under their Smart4u brand and can be found on AliExpress.

But if you really want to cheap out any bicycle helmet will do the trick. I don't use a carry bag for mine so I can't really recommend anything. Certainly plenty on AliExpress or some from Amazon.

Gotta love the comments and moderation.

    "It's illegal in …"

    followed by

"I live in … and pass cops all the time. You should break the law and assume they won't enforce it for you either."

    • I've murdered so many people and never gotten in trouble. Have at it.

  • anyone know the differences between global version and aus version?

    • If it’s anything like Ninebot, the AU versions are firmware limited to 25km/h and global are unrestricted or usually 30km/h. Not sure these are the same but it was on my Ninebot G30LP (which is a far superior scooter IMHO).

  • I just picked up one of these for my sons birthday for the $584 price….bargain… . I have had my one one for a month now ($540 during black friday) and it is friggin awesome but I have also ordered a G30max L (inbuilt charger version) for $935 from gearbite on ebay so i should be able to compare the 2 very soon before my friend buys my pro 2.

    • is G30Max L cheaper here?

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/675228

      • I did look at them but the L is $1099. The one you linked to is the LP not the L (different colours and specs) but this is a good price for the LP

        • +1

my order was picked by courier this afternoon.

hopefully it will be delivered by Saturday.

          • @lazydesi: I am loving my g30, it is definitely a step up from the pro2 my global version goes a fair bit faster too. It handles hills better, is smoother over bumps and the deck is a GREAT size for two feet with room to spare, so glad I "upgraded"

            Enjoy it when it comes

    • the is G30Max L looks awesome

      • The pro 2 is awesome as well, I don't even know why i bought the Max TBH! I'm sure it will be a better ride for what i do.. fingers crossed its worth the extra $

        • I feel the Max is better being rear wheel drive.

  • now the waiting game starts.

Back order 1pm 17/1/2022 ship 15th Feb from Melbourne.

does it meant , all back-orders will start shipping after 15th Feb?

  • this one not water resistant…that's a worry

    • IP54 but not IP68 I believe.

  • So they don’t send in time ? My delivery date is supposed to be tomorrow but on checking it’s not even posted

    • Wondering the same, bought before they were put on backorder but the rep insinuated that my order wouldn’t be dispatched until mid Feb!

      • That's ok. Price is good and not in a rush

  • Ordered first thing Monday, Arrived Friday lunchtime to North Brisbane.

  • Has anyone got their order shipped ? Gearbite eBay provided the tracking number on 9th feb.. but can’t track on CouriersPlease website.. it doesn’t show anything..

    • I've had exactly the same thing - received the tracking number on the 9th, expected delivery by 10th - 16th, but still no tracking on the CP website.

      • the reply i have received on wednesday ladt week and tuesday this week

We feel sorry about the delayed shipment, the stock should be ready last Monday, so we printed out orders and provide tracking codes to customers to shorter the preparation time. The container arrived last week, but won't be able to deliver to our warehouse due to the Covid Outbreak, they only have 50% manpower of this moment which causes a backlog. We checked the container will arrive in our warehouse within the next 1-2 business days. We will try our best to ship out ASAP after stock is ready. would you mind waiting 2 more days?

        • Got the same message.. it’s been more than 6 days.. it’s still hasn’t shipped!

          • @r98: my order was picked by courier yesterday afternoon.

            its delivering today.

            • @lazydesi: Delivered Just now.

              • @lazydesi: Oooh, surprisingly considering the courier they use they have very speedy deliveries once they are actually picked up. Do not forget to check the tyres and inflate them to 34-37 psi (i found 34 was perfect for me) they are NOT inflated much on arrival! Have you also bought the Xiaomi pump? Its an absolute lifesaver to check the tyres with, a good investment. I hope its not raining for so you can get out on it today…Enjoy!

                • @Motek Benzona: straightaway i have slimed my tyres.

i already had normal cycle pump and using that as temporary

  • In Vic I guarantee after the trial all scooters will be banned and cracked down on .
So enjoy maybe at the most till the end of this financial year .
And monster fines the next .

    • -1

      Hasn't happened to Tassie yet.

      • My bad you can ride them around your property :)

        • Difference here is that they'd have to change the road rules. There's certainly been a lot more geofencing and forced speed limits for the private scooters now.

  • I cancelled my order after the news of fines in vic

  • my scooter has been in transit from Melbourne from the 24th Feb. Anyone here ordered from WA received theirs?

    • Same here - haven’t received yet

    • Same. Still waiting

    • Received mine today

    • Also perth and still waiting

    • Finally received mine

  • Got mine today. Got the global version and no cruise control. Not happy

    • Easy to change the firmware to the CN model for cruise control.

      • How please
